Kibaha Town Council is among the 9 councils of Coast Region which was established on 17th September, 2004 under Act 7 & 8 of 1982 Section 8&9 of the Regional Administration and Local Government (Urban/District Authorities) Under the Ministerial establishment GN No.352 dated 19/04/2004 and the certificate of establishment was issued by Clerk of the National Assembly on 17th October, 2007.

The Council like other Councils is under the supervision of the President’s Office, Regional Administration and Local Government. However the running of the Council is vested to 19 Councilors 14 of them being representatives from 14 wards of the council and the rest 5 from special seat. All of them are either elected or nominated in accordance with the section 19 of the Act. Generally the day to day running of the affairs of the council is on the Town Director.

Location Kibaha Town Council (KTC) is located at 40 Kms away from Dar es Salaam City and borders Ubungo Municipal to the East, Bagamoyo to the North, Kisarawe South and the Small Town of Mlandizi North. It falls under the jurisdiction of Coast Region as one Council out of nine (9). It lies between latitude 6.8° South and longitude 38.2° and 38.5° East and directly linked with Bagamoyo Town by seasonal road

Population 
Kibaha Town Council as per 2012, National census report has an estimated population of 128,488 of which 65,835 were Females and 62,653 Males with household number of 17,788 and average size for household of 4.1. About 49% of Kibaha Town Council population is composedof males while 51% are females (2012 National census).

The overall sex ratio is 95 males for every 100 females. Currently (2017) Kibaha Town Council is estimated to have the population of 144,241. Among them 70,334 being men and women being 73,906.

Ethnically the inhabitants found are mainly of the Zaramo and Matumbi tribes. However, the composition of the current population is getting more cosmopolitan due to the influx of workers in the industry, businessmen and fortune seekers from other parts of the country.

Nevertheless, the Council has three main ethnic groups namely: Zaramo, Matumbi and Ngindo. The majority of Zaramo occupy the largest part of the Town Council area which covers all wards except Msangani ward, followed by Matumbi occupying all wards with the exception of Kongowe ward as well as the Ngindo. In addition, the council isalso occupied by other small ethnic tribes including the Yao, Makonde, Kwere, Ngoni, Gogo, Sukuma, Nyamwezi,
Ndengereko, Mwera, Chaga, Pare and Gweno.

The Director of KIBAHA Town Council invites qualified Tanzanians to apply for seven job position in this council after obtaining approval from the office of president, public sector management.
