HEADQUARTERS OF ARUSHA DISTRICT COUNCIL:

ORIGIN OF ARUSHA COUNCIL:

Arusha Council has three divisions of Enaboishu, Moshono and Mukulat with 27 wards of Bangata, Bwawani, Ikiding’a, Ilboru, Kimnyaki, Kiranyi, Kisongo, Kiutu, Laroi, Lemanyata, Matevesi, Mlangarini, Mwandet, Moivo, Musa, Nduruma Oldonyosambu, Oldonyowas, Olkokola, Oljoro, Olmotony, Oloirieni, Olturoto, Olturumet, Sambasha, Sokon II and Tarakwa; With 67 Villages, 256 Sub-districts and one Sub-Town Authority known as Ngaramtoni Sub-Town Authority with 7 wards and 21 Sub-districts.

Arusha Council receives an average rainfall of 500 mm to 1200 mm per year. The climate of Arusha District Council is characterized by two rainy seasons, the long rains and the autumn rains. The average annual rainfall is 900 mm with a minimum humidity of 42 percent and a maximum humidity of 50 percent, while the temperature ranges from 160C to 330C throughout the year.
