Handeni District Council is located in the southern part of Tanga region at latitude 40 9’ – 60 0’ south of the Equator and longitude 360 8’ – 380 5’ east of ‘‘Greenwich’’. On the East, Handeni District borders Pangani and Muheza Districts, on the North, it borders Korogwe and Simanjiro Districts, on the West, it borders Kilindi District and on the South, it borders Bagamoyo District.
AREA:
Handeni District Council has an area of 6,453 Square Kilometers (637,925.15 Ha). This area is equivalent to 23.59 percent of the total area of Tanga Region
PHYSICAL FEATURES AND WEATHER:
In general, HANDENI District Council is divided into two main zones:-
Highlands and a few hills:
This zone is made up of scattered mountain ranges and mountain peaks whose elevation ranges from 600 meters to 1,200 meters above sea level and covers about 75 percent (4,839.75 km2) of the total area of Handeni District Council. An average of 800 mm – 1000 mm of rainfall is received in this zone per year.

1: MWANDISHI MWENDESHA OFISI DARAJA LA II (OFFICE MANAGEMENT SECRETARY GRADE II): Number of Posts: 6
Duties and Responsibilities
Type letters, reports and documents, both regular and confidential;
Receive visitors and listen to their problems and direct them where they can be helped;
Maintain records of events, appointments, meeting dates, the Head’s travels and other work schedules;
Search for files and documents required in the implementation of work duties;
Receive files and distribute them to Officers in the relevant Department/Unit/Section;
Collect, maintain and return files and documents to the relevant departments;
Organize notes and make preparations for various meetings;
Prepare a list of office equipment requirements; and
Perform other tasks assigned by the Head of Department.
Qualifications
Employment of Form Four or Form Six graduates with a Diploma (NTA Level 6) in Secretarial Studies.
In addition, they should have passed the Kiswahili and English 80 words per minute (80.wp.m) test and received training in office computer programs such as: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, E-mail and Publisher from any government-recognized college.
2: DEREVA DARAJA II (DRIVER II): Number of Posts: 13
Duties and Responsibilities
Inspecting the vehicle before and after the trip to determine the safety condition of the vehicle;
Sending Employees to various locations on business trips;
Carrying out minor vehicle repairs;
Filling and maintaining all trip information in the trip log;
Collecting and distributing various documents; and
Car cleaning;
Qualifications
Employees must have a Form IV certificate and a Class E or C driving license that they have worked on for at least one (1) year without causing an accident, along with training certificates that qualified them to obtain the relevant classes.
They must have attended the Basic Driving Course provided by the VETA College or another College recognized by the Government.
3: MSAIDIZI WA KUMBUKUMBU DARAJA LA II (RECORDS MANAGEMENT ASSISTANT II): 8 Positions
