8 Job Opportunities at Ludewa District Council January 2026

Ludewa DC is one of the four districts of NJOMBE Region. The district shares common boundaries with Njombe District to the North, Makete District to the North- West, Songea District to the East and Mbinga and Nyasa District to the South.

In the West, the District is bordered by Malawi with the boundary being demarcated by Lake Nyasa

The Ludewa District was officially launched on the 28th of November 1975 as confirmed by the Government Gazette Notice No. 185. The Ludewa District is mandated through Local Government Act No. 5 (District Authorities) Cap 287 with amendments of 2002. The Ludewa DC was inaugurated on 1st July 1984.

The Director of Ludewa District Council invites qualified Tanzanians to apply for eight (8) job positions in this Council after obtaining approval from the Office of the President, Public Service Management and Good Governance as follows:-

1.0 DRIVER CLASS II – 4 POSITIONS

 DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS

i. Inspecting the vehicle before and after the trip to determine the safety status of the vehicle;

ii. Sending employees to various locations on business trips;

iii. Carrying out minor vehicle repairs;

iv. Collecting and distributing various documents;

v. Filling and maintaining all trip information in the “log book”;

vi. Cleaning the vehicle; and

vii. Carrying out other tasks as directed by his/her Supervisor.

 QUALIFICATIONS OF THE APPLICANT

To be employed with a Form IV certificate and a Class E or C driving license, which he has worked for not less than one (1) year without causing an accident, along with training certificates that qualified him to obtain the relevant classes.

He must also have attended the Basic Driving Course provided by the VETA College or another College recognized by the Government.

  SALARY LEVEL: TGS B

2.0 OFFICE EXECUTIVE CLASS II – POSITION 4

 DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS

i. Typing letters, reports and ordinary and confidential documents,

ii. Receiving visitors and asking about their problems and directing them to places where they can be addressed,

iii. Maintaining records of events, appointments, visitors, dates of meetings, trips of his superior and other work schedules,

iv. Searching for files and documents required for the implementation of work duties, v. Receiving files and distributing them to officers in the relevant Department/Unit,

vi. Collecting, maintaining and returning files and documents to the relevant departments,

vii. Preparing extracts and making preparations for various meetings.

viii. Preparing a list of office equipment requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS OF THE APPLICANT

To be employed with Form Four or Form Six Education with a Diploma in Reading or NTA Level 6 certificate in reading.

In addition, he/she must have passed the Kiswahili and English Shorthand test 100 words per minute and have access to office computer programs such as Word, Excel, Power point, Windows, Internet, E-mail and Publisher from any university recognized by the Government

GENERAL CONDITIONS

i. All applicants must be Tanzanian Citizens, not exceeding 45 years of age.

v. Testimonials “Provision Results”, “Statement of Results” Form Four and Six Results Statements WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED,

vi. Applicants for Driver II cadre with Class E or C licenses should ATTACH Driver training certificates that qualified them to obtain the relevant classes

vii. All applicants must upload a recent “Passport Size” photograph on the Ajira Portal page,

viii. Applicants who studied abroad should ensure that their certificates are verified and certified by the relevant authorities namely TCU, NECTA and NACTE,

ix. Applicants who have retired from the Public Service are not allowed to apply
unless they have the approval of the Principal Secretary,

x. Applicants who are already employed in entry-level positions in the Public Service should not apply and are required to adhere to the instructions
in the Circular Ref. No. CAC.45/257/01/D/140 dated 30th November, 2010,

xi. Submission of false information and qualifications will be subject to legal action,
