Since its establishment by the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania on 13 October 2015, Benjamin Mkapa Hospital has been at the forefront of providing modern healthcare services. BMH is a public tertiary, referral and university-based institution, aimed at addressing the needs of advanced and specialized healthcare services in Tanzania and Africa. These services are provided using modern diagnostic equipment, specialized specialists, and modern treatment.

The hospital is located in Dodoma, the capital of Tanzania, and is the main government hospital serving a population of about 14 million. BMH is under the Ministry of Health and works closely with the University of Dodoma. It also has extensive collaborations with various institutions in Africa, Europe, the Middle East, Asia and the Americas.
We provide the best professional and advanced healthcare services that were previously unavailable in the country, using modern science. BMH owns modern equipment such as CT Scan machines, MRI, and Catheter Heart Testing Laboratory.

In addition to standard specialist services, we provide comprehensive treatment for kidney diseases and kidney transplantation, bone marrow transplantation and hematology services, penile transplantation, cardiac services and open heart surgery, brain surgery, orthopedics and trauma, cancer, radiotherapy, nuclear medicine, as well as laparoscopic and endoscopic surgery. In addition to medical services, we provide university-level medical training, conduct research and provide expert advice. BMH also serves health tourists from various African countries.
