The Ministry of Information, Culture, Arts and Sports was established by the Government on 8 December 2024 and published in Government Notice No. 36 of 17 January 2025.
The Ministry has been mandated to coordinate and oversee the implementation of Government Policies, Laws, and various Plans in the sectors of Information, Culture, Arts, and Sports. Additionally, the Ministry is responsible for supervising the development of Information, Culture, Arts, and Sports in the country. In carrying out its responsibilities fully, the Ministry is structurally divided into two main areas which are:
Management and implementation of sectoral issues
Operation, coordination and supervision
Content Creators Registration Form
The Minister for Information, Culture, Arts and Sports, Hon. Paul Makonda, has said that the Ministry has been allocated TZS 2 billion that will enable various content creators on the Internet to strengthen their work and increase their income through digital platforms.
He said this on January 29, 2026 in Dodoma and noted that the funds have been provided by the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Hon. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, with the aim of enabling all groups of content creators including in the Tourism, Sports, News, Society, Music, Film and other arts sectors.
He noted that the registration exercise for the beneficiaries officially begins from January 30 to February 15, 2026, where content creators are required to arrive at the offices of District Councils, Municipalities and Cities through information units, to collect and fill out application forms, specifying personal information as well as the activities they carry out.
