JOB TITLE: Lease Intern (4)
Reporting To: Lease Officer
Location: Dar es Salaam, Mbeya and Kahama

Job Description:
To support branch-level leasing operations through client sourcing, appraisal of lease applications, documentation, monitoring, and portfolio supervision, in line withPASS Leasing policies and procedures.
The role also provides structured on-the-job learning and professional exposure, enabling the intern to gain practical skills in agricultural finance, credit appraisal, portfolio management, risk monitoring, and client relationship management within a regulated leasing environment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The Lease Intern will support the Lease Officer in the execution of leasing activities at the zonal level. Specific responsibilities include:
1. Business Development & Account Origination
• Source, market, and originate lease accounts within the assigned zone.
• Visit potential agro-enterprises and business clients to assess financing needs.
• Liaise with approved and prospective suppliers to support lease structuring.
2. Lease Appraisal & Processing
• Analyze, evaluate, and package lease applications in accordance with company guidelines.
• Prepare lease proposals and submit them to the Lease Officer for review prior to presentation to approving authorities.
• Ensure completeness and accuracy of all required documentation.
• Implement and document approved lease facilities in compliance with company procedures.
3. Portfolio Monitoring & Supervision
• Coordinate with relevant internal units to support implementation, monitoring, and supervision of lease accounts.
• Conduct quarterly comprehensive portfolio reviews.
• Perform spot/random checks on lease transactions to ensure compliance with preand post-disbursement conditions.
• Monitor lease facilities regularly and escalate early warning signals of default.
• Ensure daily portfolio management activities are conducted effectively.
4. Risk Management & Recovery Support
• Support resolution of problematic lease accounts in coordination with the Legal and Servicing Units.
• Ensure lease assets are adequately ensured in accordance with company requirements.
• Monitor clients showing signs of distress and involve relevant internal specialists where necessary.
• Support repossession and recovery processes in line with company policy.
5. Compliance & Documentation
• Ensure all legal documentation is properly perfected and securely stored.
• Maintain proper records to support audit and compliance requirements
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills required:
• Bachelor’s degree in agriculture (Agricultural Economics, Agribusiness), Business Administration, Finance, or related field.
• Strong interest in agricultural finance and leasing operations.
• Basic knowledge of business analysis and financial assessment is an added advantage.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
