100 Teaching Vacancies at Tunduru District Council March 2026, Tunduru District was established in 1905 during the colonial period when the German Government built a fort in the Kadewele area near the current Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) building.
This district is among the six (6) districts of Ruvuma Region, which borders Lindi Region to the North, Mtwara Region to the East, Namtumbo to the West and Mozambique to the South.
According to the results of the Population and Housing Census held in August, 2020, the population was 412,054 of whom 201,668 were men and 210,386 were women. The majority of the population of Tunduru are Yao who have migrated from neighboring Mozambique. The tribes found in Tunduru District include the Makua, Wangoni, Indi, Wandendeule, Matengo and Sukuma.
The Director of Tunduru District Council wishes to announce to all Tanzanians with qualifications and ability to fill the contract job vacancies for Teacher III A, Teacher III B and Teacher III C.
1.0 TEACHER III A – (40 POSTS)
1.1 APPLICANT QUALIFICATIONS
To be employed, must have a Teaching Certificate.
1.2 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. To prepare schemes of work, lesson plans, lesson notes and work plans for other assigned responsibilities;
ii. To create and utilize teaching and learning tools;
iii. To teach, conduct assessments and keep records of students’ progress;
iv. To supervise and monitor student attendance at School and in class;
v. To supervise students’ intellectual, physical, and spiritual development and provide guidance and counseling;
vi. To provide professional and academic advice regarding educational development;
vii. To supervise and ensure the care of school equipment and assets;
viii. Other duties as assigned by the Head Teacher according to school responsibilities.
SALARY
A Contract Teacher will be paid an allowance of Tsh. 200,000/= per month.
2.0 TEACHER III B – (30 POSTS)
2.1 APPLICANT QUALIFICATIONS
To be employed, must have a Diploma in Teaching.
2.2 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. To prepare schemes of work, lesson plans, lesson notes and work plans for other assigned responsibilities;
ii. To create and utilize teaching and learning tools;
iii. To teach, conduct assessments and keep records of students’ progress;
iv. To supervise and monitor student attendance at School and in class;
v. To supervise students’ intellectual, physical, and spiritual development and provide guidance and counseling;
vi. To provide professional and academic advice regarding educational development;
vii. To supervise and ensure the care of school equipment and assets;
viii. Other duties as assigned by the Head Teacher according to school responsibilities.
SALARY
A Contract Teacher will be paid an allowance of Tsh. 200,000/= per month.
3.0 TEACHER III C – (30 POSTS)
3.1 APPLICANT QUALIFICATIONS
To be employed, must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Education.
3.2 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. To prepare schemes of work, lesson plans, lesson notes and work plans for other assigned responsibilities;
ii. To create and utilize teaching and learning tools;
iii. To teach, conduct assessments and keep records of students’ progress;
iv. To supervise and monitor student attendance at School and in class;
v. To supervise students’ intellectual, physical, and spiritual development and provide guidance and counseling;
vi. To provide professional and academic advice regarding educational development;
vii. To supervise and ensure the care of school equipment and assets;
viii. Other duties as assigned by the Head Teacher according to school responsibilities.
SALARY
A Contract Teacher will be paid an allowance of Tsh. 200,000/= per month.
GENERAL TERMS FOR ALL APPLICANTS
i. All applicants must be Tanzanian citizens aged between 18 years and not exceeding 45 years.
ii. Applicants with disabilities are encouraged to apply and should specify their disability.
iii. Applicants should attach a detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV) containing a valid address, accessible phone numbers, an email address, and names of three reliable referees.
iv. All applications should be accompanied by certified copies of Education and Professional certificates, certified by an Advocate/Lawyer, which include Form Four or Form Six certificates for those who reached that level of education, and certificates for completing various training based on the qualifications for the specific job (Postgraduate/Degree/Advanced Diploma/Diploma/Certificate – Form Four and Form Six Examination Certificates, Computer Certificate – Professional Certificates from Respective Boards).
v. Candidates who submit Testimonials, Provisional Results, Statements of Results, Form IV and Form VI results slips WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED AND WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO PROCEED WITH THE INTERVIEW.
vi. Applicants who studied outside Tanzania must ensure their certificates are verified and approved by the relevant authorities (TCU, NECTA and NACTVET).
vii. Applicants retired from Public Service are not allowed to apply unless they have permission from the Chief Secretary.
viii. Job applicants who are already employed in entry-level positions within the Public Service should not apply and are required to adhere to the directives given in Circular No. CAC 45/257/01/D/140 dated November 30, 2010.
ix. Applicants who submit forged information and qualifications will face legal action.
x. Candidates whose names differ in their documents must submit a Deed Poll registered with the Ministry of Lands.
