26 Vacancies at Mirembe Hospital March 2026, MNMH plays a big role in prevention, treatment, rehabilitation , training and research in mental health and substance misuse. It is the only specialized mental health hospital in Tanzania. In the curative aspect it has section for Substance use disorders, forensic psychiatric services, child and adolescent mental health services, and maternal mental health services, neuropsychiatric services, General adult psychiatric services. Also it has a Research and Training unit for mental health and substance use disorders.
Functions
To provide preventive services related to mental health
To provide super specialized treatment and care to people with mental disorders
To provide treatment and care to people with substance use disorders.
To provide education and information on mental health to the community.
To advise the Prison officers on the evidence based way of managing prisoners with mental illnesses
To advise courts on mental health and mental disorder defenders
The Executive Director of the National Mental Health Hospital Mirembe announces the availability of vacancies for Voluntary Contract Employment.
The vacancies concern the following cadres;
Assistant Nursing Officers (ANO), fourteen (14) positions.
Medical Assistants (MATT) ten (10) positions.
Driver, one (1) position and Information Officer one (1) position.
Tanzanians who are qualified to apply, and fill these positions, are requested to submit applications for:
ASSISTANT NURSING OFFICER
The applicant must have a diploma in Nursing from a Government-recognized institution, Nursing and Midwifery certificates and a valid license.
HEALTH ASSISTANT
The applicant must have a certificate from a Government-recognized institution,
DRIVER
The applicant must have a certificate from a Government-recognized institution and a valid license.
NEWS OFFICER
The applicant must have a diploma or degree from a university recognized by the Government
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS
Must not be more than 35 (Thirty-five) years of age.
Must have passed Form Four / Six.
Must have a National Identity Card and
Must have two guarantors recognized by the Village / Mtaa Government where he/she resides.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
All applicants must attach a copy of Form Four / Six certificate, professional certificate, birth certificate, personal information (curriculum Vitae).
Applicants who submit “Result Slip”, “Statement of Result”, “Provisional Result” or “Transcript” WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
