8 Job Opportunities at Njombe Referral Hospital April 2026, Njombe regional referral hospital was established in the year 2016. Initially the services were being provided using Njombe town council facility namely Kibena. Following construction and completion of new OPD buildings in mid 2019, the Regional Referral Hospital has transferred its services to new facility situated at Mgodechi area which is about 7 kilometers from town centre.

Thanks to the current Government under his Exellency Dr John Joseph Pombe Magufuli for his leadership and focus on improving health care system.

The facility catchment area covers all six councils of Njombe region which has 24,994square kilometer. Total population in the catchment area amounts to 803,529, of which the number of female population is 421,889, males is 381,410 and children of under five years amounts to 108,780.

To effect referral system, Patients are brought from low health facilities by ambulances which includes District hospitals and nearby health centers. In case the facility has no ambulance and the patient is in dire situation then the ambulance is dispatched from the Regional Referral hospital to fetch the patient.

The hospital is now under construction of several new buildings including Emergence building, surgical buildings, incinerator, Laundry, Obstetric and children building as well as 5 staff houses. We are optimistic that after completion of all units of the Hospital, this facility will be most modern and cutting edge facility in southern highlands.

The Medical Officer of Njombe Regional Referral Hospital would like to invite all qualified and interested Tanzanians to apply for the contract positions mentioned below to submit their applications.

1. NURSE ASSISTANT OFFICER CLASS II (NURSE II) POSITION 05

a) Qualifications for employment:
A holder of a Diploma in Nursing from a recognized University and who is registered with the Tanzania Nursing and Midwifery Council

b) Duties and Responsibilities:

i. Providing Nursing services

ii. Collecting vital health data

iii. Directing the work of nurses under him/her

iv. Educating patients and the community about their health problems

v. Providing preventive and reproductive services

vi. Performing other duties assigned by his/her superior related to his/her education, experience and skills.

2. ARCHIVE ASSISTANT GRADE II (POSITION 02)

a) Qualifications

A holder of a Diploma in Recordkeeping from a Government-recognized Institution will be considered.

b) Duties and Responsibilities

Receive documents from outside and within the institution and place them in Files

Search for records/documents/files required by users

Analyze, list and organize records into groups according to the relevant subject for office use.

Store/organize records in racks/in registries/file storage rooms.

Keep records of (letters, documents, etc.) in files

Maintain and control the loss of documents and ensure that these documents are not released to unauthorized persons.

3. HEALTH CARE SERVICE (WASTE IMMERSION BUILDING) Position 01

a) Qualifications for employment

i. Must be a Tanzanian not exceeding 45 years of age

ii. Must have Secondary Education

b) Duties and Responsibilities

i. Incinerate all waste generated in the Hospital

ii. Maintain and inspect the waste incineration plant before and after waste incineration

iii. Maintain the waste incinerator building

iv. Prepare weekly and monthly reports of waste incinerated

v. Perform other tasks assigned by his/her supervisor related to his/her education, experience and skills.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL APPLICANTS

Must not be older than 35 years and in good health

Applicants who studied abroad should ensure that their certificates have been verified and approved by TCU or NECTA
