1: POSITION: ERT Specialist
DEPARTMENT: HSE / ERT

OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE
We are looking for an experienced ERT Specialist to lead and strengthen emergency preparedness and response capabilities. This role ensures effective protection of people, assets, and operations through the development and execution of a robust Emergency Response Program aligned with industry standards.
ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Develop and implement emergency response and rescue plans
- Coordinate emergency incidents, drills, and crisis management activities
- Train and maintain competency of Emergency Response Team members
- Monitor fire, rescue, and safety equipment readiness and compliance
- Conduct inspections, risk assessments, and safety awareness sessions
- Support medical evacuations and site-wide emergency coordination
- Maintain reporting, compliance, and performance monitoring system
- Lead incident investigations and ensure root cause analysis is conducted with corrective actions implemented
- Maintain readiness of emergency response facilities, including control rooms and rescue stations
- Coordinate mutual aid agreements with external emergency services and stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and company emergency response standards
- Develop and manage ERT budgets, including equipment and training needs
- Oversee contractor emergency preparedness and ensure alignment with site standards
- Support business continuity planning and disaster recovery strategies
- Monitor and evaluate emergency response performance metrics and KPIs
- Facilitate simulation exercises for high-risk scenarios (e.g., fire, collapse, hazardous spills)
- Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping of all emergency drills, incidents, and inspections
- Provide technical advice on fire protection systems and emergency infrastructure
- Promote a strong safety culture and continuous improvement within the ERT function
- Participate in audits and inspections related to emergency preparedness and response
- Ensure effective communication systems are in place for emergency situations
- Mentor and coach ERT members to build capability and leadership within the team
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
Education & Qualification
- Relevant qualification in an Emergency Services Discipline at the level of Senior Fire Fighter or equivalent
- The Mining (safety, occupational health and environment protection) regulations, 2010, Part IV – Regulation 49 Emergency Preparedness.
- Certificate IV training and assessment
- NOSHC
- Certificate III in Mine rescue
Experience, Knowledge and Skills
- Minimum 3 years in mining operation open and underground rescue field
- Firefighting and rescue operations (advanced level)
- Rope rescue, confined space rescue, and water rescue
- Use and maintenance of SCBA and firefighting equipment
- Emergency drill planning and execution
- Incident reporting, investigation, and documentation
- Data analysis and reporting (including use of spreadsheets and reporting tools)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- Computer literacy (MS Office and emergency management systems)

2: Position: Gun Handler
OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE
To provide physical security services in the Metallurgical process plant, access controls, searches, smelt house high level security activities, loading of the bullion Dore to the light vehicle during shipment, foot patrol and general security metallurgical physical observations and protection of Staff and Contract Employees.
ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
- To provide physical security services in the Metallurgical process plant, access controls, searches, smelt house high level security activities, loading of the bullion Dore to the light vehicle during shipment, foot patrol and general security metallurgical physical observations and protection of Staff and Contract Employees.
- Participate in searching by implementing three D’s modal (Deter- Discourage, Detect- spot and Denial – Prevent crime, illegal contrabands or any other illegal substances brought in at the searching point
- Access Control conduct thoroughly searching to all Metallurgical access gates, small gates, acacia gate, elution operations padlocks valves opening and closing and all search rooms
- Participate effectively and efficiently on all Process Plant planned shutdown.
- Physical guarding of valuables in the Metallurgical smelt house operation process where gold in any form may be vulnerable to be stolen by staff or Contract employees
- Plant Perimeter patrols and patrols within the metallurgical plant where all observed, detected irregularities during patrol are reported
- Participating in loading the high value product bullion dore (core product) during Bullion Tactical Protection Shipment
- The Gun handler must reasonably ALARP (As Low as Reasonably Practical) use of force and rules of
- Effective and efficient searches to retrieve or recover GBM or spare parts.
- Escort Delivery trucks and emergency vehicles in the plant.
- Report any damage or faults of the technical equipment e.g. Metal Detector, Hand Radios, Electrical Wire Fault Etc
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
Education & Qualification
- Ordinary secondary school certificates
- NIDA card/number
- TIN Certificate and number
- Driving basic skills and holder of driving license is an added advantage
Experience, Knowledge and Skills
- Not less than 2 years working in Security operational areas
- Should be fluent in both English and Swahili communication Language skills.

- Basic military training or any other basic Police training or related investigation and Intelligence (Preliminary Investigations).
