New Vacancies at Kilombero Sugar Company Limited October 2026, Kilombero Sugar Company Limited (KSCL), is the largest producer of sugar in the country under the strong “Bwana Sukari” brand name.
KSCL is part of the Illovo Sugar Africa Group, Africa’s biggest sugar producer with extensive agricultural and manufacturing operations in six African countries; including South Africa, Malawi, Mozambique, Eswatini, Zambia and Tanzania.

1: Maintenance Worker – Plumbing
Job Purpose
To carry out plumbing maintenance, installation, inspection and repair works on water supply systems, drainage systems, sanitary fittings, irrigation infrastructure and related plumbing facilities within the Estate to agreed standards while ensuring safe and efficient operations.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Carry out plumbing maintenance and repairs on water reticulation systems, pipelines, valves, pumps, tanks, sanitary fittings and related infrastructure.
Install, replace and maintain plumbing fixtures including taps, toilets, sinks, water heaters and drainage systems.
Diagnose and repair leaks, blockages, damaged pipes and other plumbing faults in a timely manner.
Conduct planned preventative maintenance on plumbing systems and equipment according to maintenance schedules.
Inspect plumbing installations and report defects or potential failures to the Estate Maintenance Foreman.
Ensure all plumbing works are performed according to approved standards and specifications.
Maintain tools, equipment and materials in good working condition and report shortages where necessary.
Co-operate with management to enable them to perform their duties under the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental and company procedures while carrying out assigned duties.
Maintain a clean working environment with proper housekeeping.
Ensure that all operations are carried out in accordance with the Quality Management System requirements to achieve the required quality standards.
Perform all tasks with awareness towards the prevention of pollution and protection of the environment.

Qualifications
Job Qualification and Experience
Trade Test Grade II or Level II in Plumbing
Form Four Secondary Certificate
1-2 years experience in plumbing maintenance or related environment
Knowledge of water supply systems, drainage systems, pipe fitting, leak detection and plumbing repairs
Experience in welding, irrigation systems and pump maintenance will be an added advantage
Terms Of Service: The successful candidate will be engaged on a Permanent Contract.
2: Attendant Front End
Job role
Ensuring good performance, Safety, and housekeeping at the Front-End section. The plant unit involve cane preparation unit and Juice extraction unit. Ensuring the KPIs are within operating range through monitoring process, troubleshooting, and fixing defects. Attend to maintenance on breakdown repairs and off crop.
Business and Financial Accountabilities:
Ensuring and monitoring condition of the machine and reliability of the machine at front end section.
Customer and Stakeholder Accountabilities
Performs all tasks according to Kilombero Sugar’s Safety, Quality, Health and Environment policies and procedures.
Take reasonable care for the health and safety of yourself and other persons who may be affected by what you do or do not do.
Operational Accountabilities
Ensuring proper operation from cane yard to mill house through liaising with Front end operators (Hilo spiller, feeder table, and Control Room Operator) to ensure consistent operation and performance during the shift.
Ensure Sanitation at the mill station is done appropriately by application of biocides.
Check the flow and temperature of bearing cooling water which must be ambient. Report to Front End foreman any abnormalities.
To ensure the Front-End section complies and adheres to all safety procedures during operation and maintenance i.e., Lockout and isolation procedures.
During scheduled stop mill attendant should provide technical assistance to maintenance team on repair works and inspections.
Trouble shoot and provide smooth run of operation of Front-end section.
To test all standby pump as require once per week (Specified day) in case of any faults report to Front end Foreman.
Conduct daily/weekly inspections according to procedure and report feedback at front end section i.e hammer wears, juice pumps, hydraulic system, oil levels in gearboxes.
Ensure proper handing over at the end of his/her shift according to the handing over procedures.
Ensure consistent supply of Mixed juice to process house by checking juice pump efficiencies, mill discharge unit.
Ensure imbibition application at mills is at appropriate setting parameters i.e temperature, flow rate.
To check and Inspect arcing of mill rolls regularly to ensure good crushing and extraction of juice.
Ensure housekeeping is maintained at frontend section. Ensuring juice/oil leakages are arrested immediately at front end section.
Ensure Correct adjustment is done to machine setting i.e mill setting, mill lift to achieve KPI required.
Do Sampling for individual machine products to troubleshoot any faults found.
Ensure proper mill bypass procedure is conducted when there is a fault on mill after being reported to Control room operator/ Front end foreman.
When involved in any incident that may affect your/others health or which has caused an injury to you, or impacted on the environment, report such incident to your Front-end foreman not later than the end of the shift during which the incident occurred.
Performs any other duties as assigned by relevant line manager.

Certificate in fitter mechanics from recognized institution.
3 years working in sugar industry
