New Vacancies at TAMISEMI October 2026, The Prime Minister’s Office – Regional Administration and Local Government (PMO-RALG) continues to implement nutrition services in Tanzania. Furthermore, with funding from Big Win Philanthropy, PMO-RALG is implementing a specific initiative aimed at strengthening the delivery of nutrition interventions in regions with high rates of stunting.

PMO-RALG hereby announces a vacancy for one (1) position—a one-year contract, renewable for an additional year subject to the availability of funds—for a Nutrition Officer specializing in monitoring and evaluation.

The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and evaluating nutrition data in regions with high rates of stunting.

1.0 NUTRITION OFFICER GRADE II – POSITION (1)

1.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE NUTRITION OFFICER

i. Strengthen the monitoring and evaluation system to improve the collection, analysis, utilization, and reporting of nutrition data for informed decision-making;

ii. Prepare and facilitate the implementation of the monitoring, evaluation, and program management plan;

iii. Prepare and facilitate the implementation of the plan, as well as the monitoring, evaluation, and learning for the nutrition program;

iv. Strengthen the nutrition data collection management system;

v. Coordinate regular data collection from health service delivery points, early childhood development centers, community volunteers, and implementing partners through existing systems;

vi. Conduct periodic data quality assessments to ensure accuracy, completeness, validity, reliability, and timeliness of data;

vii. Analyze program data to identify trends, achievements, challenges, and outcomes of program implementation;

viii. Collaborate and coordinate with the nutrition unit and the Regional and Council health teams to ensure the effective implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of nutrition and health interventions;

ix. Ensure that monitoring and evaluation activities fully adhere to standards, procedures, and donor requirements while maintaining beneficiary confidentiality;

x. Support the implementation of baseline, mid-term, and end-line surveys, operational research, data collection studies, and program evaluations;

xi. Collaborate with Regional and Council Health Management Teams to oversee and coordinate various nutrition services and interventions;

xii. Assist in establishing a community feedback and response mechanism regarding nutrition;

xiii. Provide training to program staff, government officials, community health workers, Early Childhood Development (ECD) center facilitators, and volunteers;

xiv. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

1.2 APPLICANT QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates must meet the following qualifications:

I. Holder of a Bachelor’s degree in Human Nutrition, Food Science and Technology, or Home Economics and Human Nutrition from a recognized institution.

II. Holder of a Master’s degree or Postgraduate Diploma in Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E), Statistics, or Epidemiology.

III. Must have at least six (6) years of experience in monitoring and evaluation of development projects managed by donors, organizations, or development partners. Experience in managing nutrition projects will be an added advantage. 3

1.3 SALARY

Salary and other benefits will be paid in accordance with Project rates.

2.0 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS FOR JOB APPLICANTS

i. Must be a Tanzanian citizen of sound mind.

ii. Must possess original certificates for their field of study (Form Four and Form Six certificates, and Professional/Academic certificates);

iii. Must not be an employee of the Government, faith-based organization hospitals, or any other institution where the salary is paid by the Government;

iv. Must not have been dismissed, resigned, or retired from the Public Service;

v. Must possess an identification document recognized by the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania (National ID – NIDA, Driving License, or Passport), and

vi. Must attach a copy of their birth certificate.

3.0 IMPORTANT POINTS FOR ALL APPLICANTS TO NOTE

i. All applicants must be willing to work anywhere within the United Republic of Tanzania;

ii. All applicants must ensure they fill in their details and attach all necessary documents to the system;

iii. All applicants who completed their secondary education abroad are required to obtain an equivalence number (starting with the prefix “EQ…”) from the National Examinations Council of Tanzania to enable them to access the recruitment system;

iv. Applicants who studied at foreign institutions are required to obtain verification of their studies from the Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) so that their certificates may be recognized and validated for use within the country;

v. Applicants with disabilities who meet the qualifications specified in this announcement are encouraged to apply. via the system.
