Download New Format Form Two NECTA Exam (FTNA). This format for the Form Two National Assessment in English Language is based on the English Language Syllabus for Ordinary Secondary
Education 2023 issued by the Tanzania Institute of Education (TIE) and approved by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology.

This Format focuses on the competences acquired by students in Form One and Two levels. The format emphasises comprehensive evaluation of higherorder thinking skills, practical skills and attitudinal development.

GENERAL OBJECTIVES

The assessment focuses on the extent to which students are able to:

Express themselves in both spoken and written English;

Read intensively a variety of simple English texts;

Write a variety of simple texts and descriptions in the English language; and

Develop self-confidence and the ability to learn in various fields using the English language.

MAIN COMPETENCES

The English Language assessment will test the student’s ability to:

Demonstrate mastery of English language skills;

Comprehend oral and written information;

Communicate effectively in different contexts; and

Manage information search from various sources for lifelong learning
