1.     Job Purpose

To provide recent engineering graduates with practical training and hands-on experience in production operations within a pressure vessels manufacturing environment. The trainee will assist in production planning, fabrication, welding, assembly, and quality assurance processes, while learning industry standards and safety protocols.

2.     Key Responsibilities

a.    Support the production team in daily fabrication, welding, and assembly tasks.

b.    Participate in the planning and scheduling of manufacturing operations.

c.    Learn and apply manufacturing standards such as ASME, API, or ISO related to pressure vessels.

d.    Monitor production processes and assist in identifying areas for efficiency improvement.

e.    Maintain accurate production data and reports under the guidance of supervisors.

f.      Assist in implementing quality control checks throughout the manufacturing process.

g.    Observe and follow all workplace health and safety procedures and guidelines.

h.    Collaborate with other departments including design, maintenance, and quality assurance.

i.       Undertake assigned projects or tasks to enhance knowledge of production systems.

3. Qualifications and Skills

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related field.

Skills & Attributes:

  1. Basic understanding of manufacturing processes (welding, machining, fabrication).
  2. Familiarity with engineering drawings and CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) is an added advantage.
  3. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  4. Good communication and teamwork abilities.
  5. Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced production environment.
  6. High level of integrity and work ethic.

4. Training & Development

The trainee will undergo structured on-the-job training in:

  1. Pressure vessel fabrication techniques.
  2. Welding procedures and inspections.
  3. Production planning and inventory control.
  4. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) practices.
  5. Quality assurance standards and documentation.

5. Career Progression

Upon successful completion of the training program and performance evaluation, the trainee may be considered for a permanent position such as Production EngineerQuality Control Officer, or Maintenance Technician, based on company needs and individual performance.
