Songwe District Council, established in 2015 under Government Notice No. 433b and Parliament Act No. 7/1982, is a local government authority in the Songwe Region of southwestern Tanzania.
Formed after splitting from Chunya District in Mbeya Region, the district spans 16,070 square kilometers, with a population of 133,692 (2012 census).
Bordered by multiple districts including Momba, Chunya, Sikonge, and Mbozi, it consists of 2 divisions, 18 wards, and 43 villages. The district’s economy is driven by gold and coal mining, agriculture, livestock keeping, bee keeping, fishing, tourism, and forest conservation.

Inspecting the vehicle before and after the trip to determine the safety condition of the vehicle;
Sending employees to various locations on business trips;
Carrying out minor vehicle repairs;
Collecting and distributing various documents;
Filling and maintaining information on all trips in the trip log;
Cleaning the vehicle; and
Performing other tasks as directed by his/her Supervisor.
Qualifications
The applicant must have a Form IV Certificate and a Class E or C Driving License that he/she has worked for at least one year without causing an accident.
He/she must have attended the Basic Vocational Training (VETA) or another College recognized by the Government.
