12 Job Opportunities at CHAWAKIM March 2026, The Kiluvya – Mpiji Livestock Cooperative Association (CHAWAKIM), which is engaged in the collection and processing of milk, is advertising job vacancies for qualified applicants as follows:

1. Production Officer (Position 1)

1.1. Applicant Qualifications

(a) Must be between 25 and 40 years of age;

(b) Must possess a Bachelor of Science in Food Science and Technology or a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition from a recognized University;

(c) Must have at least four (4) years of experience in a relevant position, particularly in dairy industries;

(d) Must be able to lead, supervise and direct subordinate staff;

(e) Must be computer literate;

(f) Must be honest and fair;

(g) Be creative and diligent in working without supervision; and

(h) Have never been convicted of a criminal offense.

1.2.Responsibilities of the Production Officer

(a) Supervise all activities of the Dairy Products Production Unit;

(b) Supervise the receipt of milk from farmers in accordance with the established quality standards;

(c) Supervise and ensure that production is carried out in accordance with the principles of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and the products produced meet the quality standards of TBS;

(d) Prepare a production plan according to market needs;

(e) Manage resources and raw materials are used appropriately in accordance with Zero Waste Production (ZWP) and Good Hygienic Practice (GHP) in order to save raw materials and achieve product quality standards;

(f) Supervise the cleanliness of the factory and ensure that the production environment meets the established standards;

(g) Maintain proper daily production records;

(h) Provide professional advice to farmers to ensure that they can obtain milk of the required quality;

(i) Advise management on how to produce quality products to withstand the competitive market; and

(j) Be accountable to the Manager; and

(k) Carry out other duties assigned by his/her superior.

2. Marketing Officer (Position 1)

2.1 Qualifications of Marketing Officer

(a) Be between 25 and 40 years of age;

(b) Have a diploma or degree in marketing, economics, business or other similar experience in marketing;

(c) Have experience in finding and building markets for not less than three (3) years in a recognized institution;

(d) Have the ability to lead, supervise and direct subordinate staff;

(e) Have computer skills;

(f) Be honest and fair;

(g) Be able to work independently without supervision;

(h) Have a valid driver’s license and driving experience; and

(i) Have never been charged with or accused of any crime.

2.2 Duties of the Marketing Officer

(a) Shall supervise all marketing activities including the collection, sale and distribution of milk;

(b) Shall be responsible for preparing a marketing strategy for the Association’s products;

(c) Shall supervise market research for all the Association’s products;

(d) Shall be responsible for conducting market research to determine customer needs and advise the Board through the Association’s management on the quality, packaging and prices of products produced by CHAWAKIM and similar ones in the market;

(e) Shall be a link between customers, the production unit and management;

(f) Shall receive advice, comments and complaints from customers and act on them and those that fail him/her shall be submitted to the Association’s management;

(g) Shall be responsible to the Manager; and

(h) Shall perform other duties as assigned by his/her superior.

3. Warehouse Keeper (Position 1)

3.1 Qualifications of a Warehouse Keeper

(a) Must be between 25 and 40 years of age;

(b) Must possess an Ordinary Diploma in Procurement and Logistics Management/Material Management and Accounting from a recognized University

(c) Must have not less than three (3) years of experience in warehouse work in a recognized institution;

(d) Must be computer literate;

(e) Must be honest, fair and hardworking; and

(f) Must not have been convicted or accused of any offense.

3.2 Duties of a Warehouse Keeper

(a) To receive milk from farmers;

(b) To provide milk for use in various areas;

(c) To verify the amount of milk in the milk storage tanks every day in the morning (opening stock) and evening (closing stock) and to provide information to the Accountant and Manager;

(d) To prepare and maintain all records of milk entering and leaving the Association and its entire flow (stock movement) every day;

(e) In collaboration with the Production Officer, to regularly review the requirements of raw materials according to requirements and to provide information to the Manager to ensure the availability of sufficient raw materials;

(f) To prepare and maintain records of purchases of equipment and raw materials for production and all requirements of CHAWAKIM in general;

(g) To verify all assets of the Association in collaboration with the Accountant for the closing of monthly accounts or whenever it is required; and

(h) To perform other duties assigned by his/her superior.

4. Assistant Producers (5 Positions)

4.1 Qualifications of an Assistant Producer

(a) Must be at least 18 years of age.25 and 35;

(b) Have secondary education or a certificate in any field from VETA or any other college recognized by the Government. Experience in the production of dairy products will be given priority;

(c) Be honest, fair and hardworking;

(d) Be willing to learn;

(e) Be able to work without close supervision; and

(f) Be hygienic;
4.2 Responsibilities of the Assistant Producer

(a) Prepare the environment for production;

(b) Ensure the cleanliness of his work area;

(c) Perform production tasks in the factory;

(d) Cooperate with the Assistant Production Officer and follow the instructions from his leader;

(e) Be creative and dedicated at all times to carry out his duties;

(f) Maintain the working equipment in his work area and ensure that it is in good condition; and

(g) To perform other duties as assigned by his/her superior.

5. Assistant Salesperson (3)

5.1Qualifications of an Assistant Salesperson

(a) Must be between 25 and 35 years of age;

(b) Must have a secondary education or a certificate in any field from VETA or another institution recognized by the Government;

(c) Must be honest, fair and hardworking;

(d) Must have polite and respectful language towards customers;

(e) Must be creative; and

(f) Must observe cleanliness.

5.2Responsibilities of an Assistant Salesperson

(a) To sell milk to customers;

(b) To observe correct measurements for selling milk;

(c) To issue receipts every time he/she makes a sale;

(d) To ensure that the amount of milk sold matches the milk received from the Supply Officer/Storekeeper;

(e) To maintain sales funds;

(f) Maintain cleanliness of his/her work area;

(g) Be responsible for submitting sales funds to the Cashier daily;

(h) Be responsible to the Marketing Officer; and

(i) Perform other duties as assigned by his/her superior.

6. Driver (Position 1)

6.1. Qualifications and Criteria

(a) Be between 30 and 40 years of age;

(b) Be in possession of a Class C Driver’s License or above from the National Institute of Transport (NIT);

(c) Have not less than five (5) years of experience in driving medium-duty vehicles;

(d) Have not less than Form Four (4) education and a certificate in automotive engineering from a recognized institution;

(e) Be in good health and able to perform heavy-duty work;

(f) Be honest, disciplined and responsible;

(g) Have knowledge of cold chain storage;

(h) Have no criminal record; and

(i) Have a clean record of traffic violations.

6.2. Driver Responsibilities

(a) Drive the Association’s vehicle in compliance with road safety laws;

(b) Follow the Association’s vehicle usage procedures;

(c) Deliver the Association’s products to customers according to the schedule given to him/her by his/her supervisor;

(d) Ensure that the products are stored in good condition (especially the required cooling);

(e) Load and unload the products carefully to avoid damage;

(f) Store and manage shipping documents such as Delivery Notes and Goods Received Notes;

(g) Manage the cleanliness of the vehicle and the environment in which the dairy products are transported;

(h) Store and hand over shipping documents (Delivery Note and Good Received Notes);

(i) Provide good customer service and maintain good business relationships; and

(j) Conduct daily vehicle inspections before starting the journey and after completing the journey and reporting any defects to the supervisor in a timely manner.
