20 Job Vacancies at Sumbawanga Municipal Council May 2026, The Director of Sumbawanga Municipal Council hereby announces to Tanzanians with qualifications to apply for 20 volunteer job vacancies in Sumbawanga Municipality which are Teacher III B for teaching English language school and Driver II with the following breakdown:

1.0 TEACHER GRADE III B-10 POSITIONS

1.1. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

i. Preparing the job description, lesson plans, lesson notes and Work Plan other responsibilities assigned to him/her:

ii. Developing and distributing teaching and learning tools;

iii. Teaching, conducting Assessment and maintaining records of Student Development:

iv. Supervising and monitoring student attendance in School and Classroom;

v. Supervising the mental, physical, and spiritual development of students and providing counseling and guidance;

vi. Providing professional advice and expertise on educational development;

vii. Managing and maintaining School equipment and assets;

viii. Performing other duties assigned by the Principal in accordance with the responsibilities of the School

1.1.2 QUALIFICATIONS OF THE APPLICANT.

Must have completed Form IV or VI and obtained a Form IV or VI Examination Certificate.

Must have a Diploma in  Teaching or NTA Level 6 Certificate in Teaching from a Government-recognized Institution.

Must have passed Mathematics, Science and English. Must be proficient in the English language.

2.0 DRIVER CLASS II – POSITION 10

2.1.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

i. Inspecting the vehicle / guta before and after the trip to determine the safety condition of the vehicle / guta. ii. Collecting and removing waste in all areas assigned to him/her

iii. Performing minor repairs to the vehicle / guta on time

iv. Filling and maintaining information on all trips in the trip log

v. Cleaning the vehicle / guta

vi. Along with other tasks assigned to you by your employer.

vii. Collaborating with other employees or laborers to identify citizens who violate hygiene laws and reporting to the work supervisor.

2.2.2 QUALIFICATIONS OF THE APPLICANT

To be employed with a Form IV certificate and a Class E or C license for driving vehicles that they have worked on for at least one (1) year without causing an accident along with training certificates that qualified them to obtain the relevant classes.

Must have attended a Basic Driving Course provided by VETA College or another college recognized by the Government.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS FOR APPLICANTS

i. All applicants must be Tanzanian Citizens and between the ages of 18 and 45 years except for those currently employed in the Government;

ii. Applicants with disabilities are encouraged to apply and should indicate their disability on the Application Form for information to the Public Service Employment Secretariat

iii. All applicants must attach a detailed Curriculum Vitae with a valid address, contact telephone numbers and E-mail address along with the names of two reliable referees.

iv. Applicants who are already Public Servants and have obtained qualifications to enter a different cadre than their current one, should forward their application letters  have a job opportunity for their employers and their employers should be satisfied accordingly.

v. Applicants should attach a detailed CV with reliable addresses and telephone numbers along with the names of two reliable referees and have letters of introduction from the relevant Local Executive along with a NIDA ID card.

vi. All applications should be accompanied by educational and professional certificates certified by a Lawyer/Attorney which are Form Four or Six certificates for those who have reached that level and certificates of completion of various courses based on the qualifications of the relevant job.

vii. Postgraduate/Degree/Advanced Diploma/Diploma/Certificates, – Form IV and VI Examination Certificate, Computer Certificate, Professional Certificate from Respective Boards:
“Testmonial”, “Provisional Results”, “Statement of results”, Form IV AND FORM VI RESULTS SLIPS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

vii. Applicants who studied abroad should ensure that their certificates are verified and attested by the relevant Authorities (TCU, NECTA and NACTE).

ix. Retired applicants from the Public Service are not allowed to apply unless they have the approval of the Principal Secretary.

x. Applicants who are already employed in entry-level positions in the Public Service are not allowed to apply and are required to comply with the instructions contained in Document No. CAC.45/257/01/D/140 dated 30th November, 2010.

xi. Submission of false information and qualifications will result in legal action.

xii. The deadline for submitting job applications is 25/05/2026.
