Guidelines for Ngorongoro Scholarship Bachelor Degree Students 2026, These guidelines govern the Ngorongoro Scholarship, awarded to students residing within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. They apply to all students enrolled in Bachelor’s Degree programmes.

APPLICATION WINDOW

The application window for 2026/2027 opens on 15th August, 2026 and closes on 15th September, 2026. Apply through www.olams.go.tz, These Guidelines are available on www.ncaa.go.tz and www.heslb.go.tz.

CRITERIA FOR NGORONGORO SCHOLARSHIP

To benefit from the scholarship, an applicant must meet the set eligibility criteria detailed hereunder:

(i) Be a Tanzanian who is a resident of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area for a period of not less than four years,

(ii) Be admitted into an accredited tertiary education institution to pursueprogrammes aforementioned in item 2.0,

(iii) Have a complete and correct application made through HESLB; and

(iv) Demonstrate financial need with no alternative source of funding,

ITEMS COVERED UNDER NGORONGORO SCHOLARSHIP

Ngorongoro Scholarship will cover the following items: –

Tuition Fee (TU)

Covers tuition as charged by the accredited institution, up to a maximum of TZS 2,000,000 per annum.

Meals and Accommodation (MA)

Students will be provided with meals and accommodation at a rate of TZS 10,000 per day, paid in four instalments per annum.

Books and Stationery (BS)

A maximum amount of TZS 200,000 per annum will be granted to cover books and stationery for all degree programmes.

Special Faculty Requirement (SFR)

Awarded to programmes that require special faculty requirements, up to a maximum of TZS 200,000.

Field Practical Training (FPT)

Students will be awarded TZS 10,000 per day as living expenses for aperiod not exceeding 56 days during practical training, plus TZS 60,000 for transport costs.

Assistive Equipment for Students with Special Needs

Students with special needs will be awarded an amount not exceeding TZS 500,000 for the purchase of assistive equipment. The amount will be disbursed once throughout the study period.

Sponsorship Duration

Students who have secured the scholarship will be sponsored for three (3) to four (4) years, depending on the respective degree programme.

 PAYMENT MODE

All payments will be made through the HESLB Digital Disbursement Solution (DiDiS). Tuition fee payments will be made directly to the respective tertiary education institution’s bank account, while other items will be paid directly to the student’s bank account

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

The beneficiary is obligated to fulfil the following scholarship conditions:

(i) The beneficiary must read, understand, and sign the Scholarship Agreement.

(ii) A beneficiary who changes a programme of study or academic institutionmust immediately notify HESLB

(iii) Should studies be postponed for medical reasons, the beneficiary may retain the scholarship, provided the institution confirms this in writing, and

(iv) A beneficiary who withdraws from the scholarship before their studies begin must inform HESLB so that the scholarship can be awarded to someone else
