New Vacancies at Iringa District Council October 2026, The Executive Director of Iringa District Council announces and invites qualified Tanzanians to fill six approved job vacancies, following receipt of authorization from the Permanent Secretary, President’s Office – Public Service Management and Good Governance, as detailed below:
DRIVER II Posts: 1Â
Duties and Responsibilities
Inspecting the vehicle before and after trips to determine its safety status;
Transporting staff to various locations for official duties;
Performing minor vehicle maintenance;
Recording and maintaining trip details in the vehicle logbook;
Collecting and distributing various documents; and
Cleaning the vehicle;
Qualifications
Candidates must hold a Form IV certificate and a Class E or C driving license, with at least one (1) year of accident-free driving experience, along with the training certificates qualifying them for the respective license classes. They must have attended a Basic Driving Course provided by VETA or another government-recognized institution.
OFFICE MANAGEMENT SECRETARY GRADE II Posts: 1Â
Duties and Responsibilities
Typing letters, reports, and documents (both routine and confidential); Receiving visitors, listening to their concerns, and directing them to where they can receive assistance;
Maintaining records of events, appointments, meeting dates, the supervisor’s travel, and other work schedules;
Retrieving files and documents required for the execution of work duties;
Receiving files and distributing them to officers in the relevant Department, Unit, or Section;
Collecting, maintaining, and returning files and documents to the appropriate locations;
Arranging agendas and making preparations for various meetings;
Preparing lists of office supply requirements; and performing other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
Recruitment of Form Four or Form Six graduates holding a Diploma (NTA Level 6) in Secretarial Studies. Additionally, candidates must have passed Swahili and English shorthand at a speed of 80 words per minute (w.p.m.) and completed training in office computer programs—such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, E-mail, and Publisher—from any government-recognized institution.
DRIVER GRADE II (DRIVER II) Posts: 4Â
Duties and Responsibilities

Driving staff to various locations for official duties;
Performing minor vehicle maintenance;
Recording and maintaining trip details in the vehicle logbook;
Collecting and distributing various documents; and
Cleaning the vehicle;
Qualifications
Candidates must possess a Form IV certificate and a Class E or C driving license, with at least one (1) year of accident-free driving experience, along with the training certificates qualifying them for the respective license classes.
They must have completed a Basic Driving Course offered by VETA or another government-recognized institution.
GENERAL CONDITIONS
1. All applicants must be citizens of the United Republic of Tanzania and not exceed the age of 45. However, for positions within military institutions:
Applicants for non-degree positions must not exceed the age of 25.
Applicants for degree positions must not exceed the age of 30.
2. Applicants with disabilities are encouraged to apply and must specify the nature of their disability in the recruitment system to inform the Public Service Recruitment Secretariat.
3. All applicants must attach a birth certificate certified by a lawyer/advocate.

7. Applicants who studied outside Tanzania must ensure their certificates have been verified and approved by the relevant authorities (TCU, NECTA, and NACTVET). Applicants for cadres requiring a GPA who studied outside Tanzania must attach a GPA calculation certificate from TCU.
8. Applicants who have retired from the Public Service are not permitted to apply unless they hold authorization from the Chief Secretary.
9. Legal action will be taken against individuals who submit forged information or credentials.
10. Applicants for the Driver II cadre holding Class E or C licenses must ATTACH the driving training certificates that qualified them for those specific license classes.
