The Fire and Rescue Training Institute established 1966 as a training unity aimed to provide internal training for Fire and Rescue Staffs’ The Unity centered at Dar Es Salaam International Airport by that time (Julius Nyerere International Airport now) terminal one buildings. The growth of Science and technology in the world force many people to require disasters and risk management skills. Due to this, Fire and Rescue Training Institute decided to expand its provision of training from teaching staff only to the whole public. So in 2019 the Institute registered under National Council for Technical Education (NACTE) for NTA Level 4 and in 2022 started to register NTA level 5 and 6.

We strive to preserve life and property, promote public safety and respond to all calls for emergence assistance within the community by operating efficiently and in accordance with national policy guidelines and international standards
