1: National Post: Programme Analyst Maternal Health, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, NOB
The Position
The Programme Analyst, Maternal Health, is located in the UNFPA Tanzania Country Office in Dar es Salaam and reports to the SRHR Coordinator.
The position provides technical, programmatic and operational support throughout the programming process to facilitate the administration and achievement of robust and sustainable results according to plans, allocation, results based-management approaches and methodology, the UNFPA Strategic Plan, standards of performance, and accountability frameworks.
The role is critical to improving maternal health outcomes by supporting the management, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting on the maternal health programme, including midwifery models of care.
The Analyst supports the integration of maternal health interventions with family planning, adolescent SRH, gender-based violence (GBV) prevention, and SRH/HIV services.
The role involves close collaboration with government counterparts, particularly the Ministry of Health, UN agencies, civil society organizations, private sector stakeholders, midwifery and nurses associations, and academic institutions to support enhanced coordination and promote the development and implementation of integrated, high-impact maternal health initiatives.
Qualifications and Experience:Â
Education:Â
- Master’s / Advanced degree in public health, medicine, health research, health policy, education and/or management, development and/or other related social science disciplines.
Knowledge and Experience:Â
- Minimum of 2 years of progressive professional work experience in the field of sexual and reproductive health, particularly maternal health;
- Practical experience in programme/project management including experience in large multi-sector projects, designing, monitoring and appraising proposals and actively liaising and coordinating with relevant and potential project partners;
- Prior experience in the UN system is an asset.
- Experience using Microsoft Office software packages, Cloud applications, like Google Suite, and web-based ERP management systems, such as, the Oracle, Quantum, QuantumPlus, Quantum PowerBI, etc.
Languages:Â
Fluency in English is required; Kiswahili knowledge of other official UN languages, is desirable .

2: National Post: Programme Associate, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, G6
The Position:
The Programme Associate position provides comprehensive programmatic, financial, and administrative support to the Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR) Unit within the UNFPA Tanzania Country Office.
Under the overall guidance of the UNFPA Representative and the direct supervision of the SRHR Coordinator, the Associate ensures high efficiency, quality assurance, and procedural compliance in country programme implementation.
S/he works in close collaboration with the administrative, financial, and operations teams to optimize resource utilization, facilitate cross-functional workflows, and support Implementing Partners (IPs) across development and humanitarian settings.
Qualifications and Experience Education:
Completed Secondary Level Education required. A first-level university degree in public health, population studies, gender studies, development studies, social sciences, business administration, or a related field is highly desirable and will be an added advantage.
Knowledge and Experience:
- At least six (6) years of relevant professional experience in project/programme management support, administration, or financial tracking within national/international organizations, UN agencies, or CBOs/NGOs.
- Proven experience working with corporate ERP financial/management systems (e.g., Quantum, Atlas) and advanced computer applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, database management).
- Familiarity with the processing of FACE forms, HACT compliance procedures, work plan preparation, and tracking budget delivery targets.
- Demonstrated understanding of Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) programming contexts is a strong asset.
- Strong event planning, administrative coordination, multi-tasking abilities, and capability to work independently under tight deadlines.
- Prior experience within the UN System or a detailed understanding of the UNFPA mandate is a distinct advantage.
Languages:
Fluency in both oral and written in English is required.
Fluency in both oral and written in Kiswahili and / other UN language is desired.
