The organization is currently seeking a qualified and motivated Banking Application Officer to join its team in Dar es Salaam on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting, maintaining, and optimizing banking applications and IT systems to ensure operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and effective delivery of digital financial services.
1: Banking Application Officer
Responsibilities
Install, configure, and maintain servers, computers, network devices, and core applications.
Manage core banking systems, financial software, and databases.
Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure minimal system downtime.
Administer backup systems and disaster recovery solutions.
Provide technical support to staff on hardware, software, and network-related issues.
Log, track, and resolve IT support requests in a timely and professional manner.
Train staff on IT systems, cybersecurity awareness, and newly introduced applications.
Liaise with software vendors regarding system updates, support services, and integrations.
Conduct testing and deployment of new applications and system features.
Develop and implement IT policies, procedures, and technical documentation.
Ensure IT systems comply with internal controls, audit requirements, and regulatory standards.
Prepare reports and documentation for internal and external audits.
Participate in IT-related projects including digital transformation, automation, and system upgrades.
Evaluate emerging technologies for their suitability within the institution.
Coordinate with internal departments to identify and address technology requirements.
Promote safeguarding standards and ensure adherence to safeguarding policies and reporting procedures.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Fresh graduates with relevant academic background or internship exposure are encouraged to apply.
Hands-on experience with Windows/Linux servers, databases such as SQL, and network administration is an added advantage.
Professional certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), MSSQL, or ITIL will be an added advantage.
Strong knowledge of core banking systems and financial applications.
Proficiency in computer hardware, software, and troubleshooting.

2: Digital Transformation Manager
Responsibilities
Review, manage, and analyse existing business strategies related to Digital Financial Services, technology, and digital field applications.
Implement digital strategies aligned with the organization’s overall business objectives.
Develop innovative digital products and solutions that meet customer needs using available technologies and alternative delivery channels.
Lead the development and implementation of digital transformation strategies across the organization.
Monitor emerging digital technologies that can improve operational efficiency and service delivery.
Develop and manage relationships with third-party digital solution providers, fintechs, developers, and other stakeholders.
Develop detailed functional requirements for digital tools and applications.
Define implementation plans, including change management strategies, to maximize project impact.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful project implementation.
Support safeguarding initiatives by promoting safe working environments and safeguarding standards.
Promote and enforce safeguarding policies and reporting procedures within the organization.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Project Planning and Management, Sales/Marketing, or a related field.

Minimum of three years of relevant experience in financial inclusion, product development, digital finance, technology for development, or payment platforms.
Experience in project management and digital transformation initiatives.
Experience working with Mobile Network Operators, fintechs, financial institutions, or regulators is an added advantage.
Familiarity and experience with financial institutions and digital financial services.
Exposure to Digital Financial Services strategy management and strategic decision-making processes.
Strong analytical, presentation, and report writing skills.
Ability to communicate complex technological concepts to non-technical audiences.

3: Digital Transformation Officer
Responsibilities
Support the rollout and growth of digital solutions and initiatives.
Analyse and reconcile daily transactions while ensuring all exceptions are properly addressed.
Handle incoming and outgoing staff telephone correspondence accurately and professionally.
Drive utilization and uptake of digital solutions launched by BTFL.
Maintain Service Level Agreements (SLAs) in addressing digital-related challenges.
Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements within microfinance operations.
Define and drive digital strategies to address field-related digital challenges.
Provide direct support to field staff on digital-related matters.
Conduct digital training sessions for field staff.
Survey, report, and analyse digital data to support data-driven decision-making.
Ensure safeguarding standards are implemented and adhered to within the working environment.
Promote safeguarding policies among team members and support safe workplace practices.
Follow safeguarding reporting procedures and encourage compliance among staff.
