As we deepen our research and advisory capability, we are seeking a driven, analytically rigorous Research Associate to help drive our equity research, sector analysis and market-intelligence function, and to contribute directly to advisory mandate origination and deal support.
CAREER OPPORTUNITY: Research Associate
THE ROLE
Reporting to the Head of Research & Advisory, the Research Associate takes ownership of research coverage for assigned sectors, produces analyst-quality research reports and thematic investment notes, and provides cross-departmental analytical support to Global Markets and Asset & Wealth Management. The role operates with increasing autonomy and is developed toward Senior Research Associate designation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
•   Independently develop and maintain earnings, valuation and financial models (DCF, comparables and scenario-based techniques) for assigned sector coverage.
•   Produce analyst-quality equity research reports, sector briefs and thematic investment notes, translating fundamental, profitability and macroeconomic analysis into actionable buy/hold/sell recommendations.
•   Provide research input for advisory mandates — client pitches, information memoranda, feasibility studies and valuation reports across M&A, IPOs, bond issuances and private placements.
•   Present research findings to clients and at investor forums, and maintain local, regional and international investor databases.
•   Present at least one thematic research note to management each quarter and ensure full compliance with TSL policies and the CMSA/DSE regulatory framework.
•   Mentor graduate trainees and collaborate with Global Markets, Asset & Wealth Management and Fund Management teams to keep research relevant and timely.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
•   Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related field.
•   2–3 years’ relevant experience in financial research, investment analysis or capital markets.
•   Strong financial-modelling and quantitative skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
•   Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to produce publication-standard research.
•   Knowledge of equity and fixed-income markets and an understanding of the CMSA/DSE regulatory environment.
ADDED ADVANTAGE
•   CFA Level I candidate or registered (Level II/III progression preferred); FMVA or an equivalent financial-modelling certification.
•   Demonstrated valuation experience (DCF, comparables) and a track record of published research and investor communications.
•   Sector specialization in banking, fund Managers, Stock Brokers etc
