Mwandege Boys Secondary School (MBSS) is a private institution established on 14th January 2006 with registration number Reg. No. 3524 and Center number S2693. The school is located along Kilwa Road at Mwandege Ward in Mkuranga District, 20km from Dar es Salaam City Centre. The school provides Ordinary and Advanced Level Secondary Education. It is governed by a Board of Directors that appoints Head of the school with the title of Chief Facilitator. The Board of Directors of the school is now looking to recruit Chief Facilitator as follows;
Position: Chief Facilitator
Reports to: Board of Directors
Contract Type: Contractual for three years renewable
Job Purpose:
To lead execution of schools vision, mission, values, and the implementation of directives and guidance’s given by the Board of Directors. Spearhead school strategic planning, that includes matters of, human capital management, daily operations, providing high quality education services, school curriculum, staff development, student performance, financial budgeting and management, compliance with all applicable government policies, building relationship with all stakeholders and managing risks.
Key Responsibilities:
Secretary to the Board-provides reports to the Board and represent the Board as may be required
Spearhead Human capital management; recruit, train, coach, motivate, appraise, evaluate all staff and terminate
Overall In charge of implementation of the school’s strategic plan
Curriculum and Facilitation/Teaching; oversee curriculum development, teaching quality, facilitation and learning strategies thus ensuring high education standards
Administrative; To prepare and oversee the proper execution of the School Human Capital, Accounting and Risk management Policies and procedures as approved by the Board of Directors
Finance; to oversee preparation of School financial budget and ensure that actual revenues and expenses are in line with what was approved in the budget
Leading the School Council and School Management Committee
To lead the school’s process of marketing, admitting new students and ensure that students are provided with appropriate School joining instructions and guidelines
To maintain strong relationship with Community and Stakeholders including; Government, parents, regulators, suppliers. Neighbours etc.
To ensure that all physical assets of the schools are properly registered, used and preserved in a neatly environment
Compliance and reporting; To ensure adherence to government laws, policies and regulations as may be issued from time to time
All other functions as may be assigned by the Board of Directors
Education and Skills Required:
Degrees and Certifications: Holders of degree in Education, Human Resources and Administration or equivalent from accredited institutions with at least upper second class.
Teaching Experience: Teaching experience (minimum of five (5) years, is core requirement for the role.
Senior Management Experience: Experience as a senior head of school or deputy head of school is mandatory requirement. Demonstrate ability to lead teams, handle finances, decision making, problem solving and time management
People management: Good knowledge and skills in people’s management with experience of not less than 5 years
Track record: Applicant should demonstrate verifiable track record of performance in the similar role or close related positions.
