The Public Service Recruitment Secretariat (PSRS) is a government organ with a status of independent Department established specifically to facilitate the recruitment process of employees to the Public Service. Public Service Recruitment Secretariat was established by the Public Service Act No. 8 0f 2002 as amended by Act No. 18 of 2007, section 29(1).

Mission
To undertake recruitment of Public servants using modern approaches by adhering to principles of equity, transparency and merits as well as providing advice to employers on employment related matters.
Functions of Public Service Recruitment Secretariat
The major role of PSRS is to facilitate recruitment in the Public Service. According to the Public Service Cap. 298 of 2002 as amended by Amendment Act No. 18 of 2007 section 29 (1), the functions of PSRS are:-
Search for various professionals with special skills and prepare database for such professionals for easier recruitment;
Register graduates and professionals for purposes of ease of reference of filling vacant posts;
Advertise vacant posts occurring in the public service;
Engage appropriate experts for purposes of conducting interviews
Advise employers on various matters related to recruitment, and
Do any other act or thing which may be directed by the Minister responsible for Public Service.
Call For Interview at Public Service Recruitment Secretariat (PSRS) 2026
The Secretary of the Public Service Employment Secretariat on behalf of MDAs & LGAs, National Audit Office (NAOT), Vocational Education and Training Authority (VETA), Minerals Commission (TMC), National Housing Corporation(NHC), Muhimbili National Hospital (MNH) wishes to inform all Job Applicants who applied for the job that the interview is expected to be conducted from 20/01/2026 to 14/02/2026 to finally allocate job centers to the job applicants who will succeed in the interview. Interviewees who are called for the interview should adhere to the following instructions:-
Candidates called for interview should adhere to the following guidelines:-
1. The interview will be held from the date as indicated in this advertisement, the time and place where the interview will be held is specified for each Cadre.
2. Each candidate is required to arrive at the interview area wearing a Mask.
3. Each candidate should have an identification card for identification. Acceptable identification cards include:- Resident ID, Voter ID,
Work ID, Citizenship ID, Passport, Driver’s License or a letter of identification from the Local Government/Village he/she comes from.
4. Candidates are required to arrive with their ORIGINAL CERTIFICATES, starting from birth certificate, Form IV, VI, Diploma,
Diploma, Higher Diploma, Degree and onwards depending on the qualifications of the relevant position.
5. Candidates who submit ‘Testimonials, Provisional Results, Statement of results’, ‘form IV and form VI results slips’ WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED AND WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO PROCEED WITH THE INTERVIEW.
6. For cadres that are required to be registered with Academic Boards, they should bring their Original Registration Certificates along with their Working Licenses.
7. Each candidate will be responsible for their own Food, Travel and Accommodation. Furthermore, each candidate should attend the interview in neat and decent attire according to the Dress Code.
8. For candidates who studied outside Tanzania, they should ensure that their Certificates have been verified and approved by the relevant Authority (such as TCU, NACTVET or NECTA). Candidates for cadres that require ‘GPA’ who studied outside Tanzania should submit a GPA calculation certificate from TCU.
9. Candidates who have not seen their names in this advertisement should log in to their ‘Ajira
Portal’ accounts and see the reasons for not being called so that they do not miss the opportunity next time.
10. All candidates who have been called for interview should ensure that they log in to their accounts and copy the interview number.
In addition, candidates who will conduct the preliminary interview online should remember their email address and password that they use in the Ajira Portal system.
11. Candidates whose names are different in their documents should submit a Deed Poll registered with the Ministry of Lands.
