40 Vacancies Nkasi District Council March 2026, Nkasi District Council was established in 1983 and granted Certificate No. 17429/12, Nkasi District Council is one of the four District Councils that make up Rukwa Region. Its establishment followed a series of legal and administrative milestones aimed at strengthening Local Government in Tanzania.

Geography of the Council

Nkasi District Council is one of the four districts of Rukwa Region. The Council is located in the south-west of Tanzania between Lake Tanganyika and Lake Rukwa and is located at longitude 300 20′ – 310 30′ east and latitude 60 58′ – 80 17′ south.

Nkasi District Council is surrounded by a large area of Lake Tanganyika shoreline with a distance of 186 kilometers from Kalila village in the north to Kilambo cha Mkolechi located in the south of the Council.

Council Area

The district council has an area of 13,124 square kilometres of which 9,375 square kilometres is land and 3,749 square kilometres is water. Nkasi Council borders Kalambo Council and Sumbawanga Municipality to the south, Sumbawanga Rural Council to the east and to the west it borders the Democratic Republic of Congo and to the north the Council borders Katavi region.
