15 Vacancies at SUA March 2026, The AB-Consult at College of Economics and Business Studies (CoEBS), Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA), in collaboration with the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, the University of Sussex, and OCP Tanzania, is conducting a cluster randomized controlled trial (RCT) to evaluate the impact of customized fertilizer recommendations based on plot-level soil testing on smallholder farmer investment, yields, profitability, and learning in selected villages in Tanzania.
The study will involve administering structured household and plot-level survey questionnaires,conducting follow-up data checks, and collecting data on fertilizer use, input markets, and agro-dealer stock availability in Mbeya, Njombe, and Iringa. We are seeking motivated, detail-oriented field enumerators to support face-to-face interviews with farmers and assist in data collection in accordance with research protocols.

Key Responsibilities:
Participate in comprehensive training sessions on survey instruments, digital data collection tools (KoboToolbox), and survey protocols.
Pretesting the survey instruments and using feedback from the pretest to improve research tools.
Explain the research, obtain informed consent, and ensure confidentiality.
Guide respondents through a structured survey.
Accurately record data using a mobile tablet/smartphone. Maintain highquality data collection standards to ensure consistency and accuracy.
Provide daily reports to the Field Supervisor regarding progress and challenges.
Assist in collecting feedback/suggestions of participants, if necessary.Sokoine  
Skills and Traits
Strong attention to detailand ability to identify and report data quality issues or inconsistencies.
High standards of integrity and honestyin accurately recording and reporting data.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain survey questions and collect information objectively and sensitively.
Ability to work effectively in a team, coordinating with enumerators and supervisors.
Flexibility to work outside standard hours, including early mornings or weekends when required by field schedules.
Strong time management skillsand ability to meet data collection targets.
Professionalism and punctuality, with respectful engagement with respondents, team members, and supervisors.
Experience using tablets and KoboCollect (or similar tools)for survey data collection.
Required Qualification & Skills
Minimum of a Degree in Social Sciences, Economics, Agriculture, Statistics, or a related fieldfrom a recognized institution.
A master’s degree will be an advantage.
At least 2yearsofexperience in collecting quantitative or qualitative data
Indepth skills of understanding community dynamics
Experience of using tablets in data collection
Skilled in basic interviewing techniques and attention to details
Willingness to travel and work within remote areas and work flexible hours (including weekends where necessary)
