Vacancies at Shinyanga Municipal Council April 2026, Near the settlement of Old Shinyanga there was a large tree, called by the locals (residents of the area) as Inyanga. Near that tree was a settlement which was later called the settlement of Inyanga. Non-natives (foreigners) found it difficult to pronounce Inyanga and instead called the place Shinyanga. The name came into common use and as a result the settlement was called Shinyanga.

The new settlement so named grew and later became one of the main service centers in the Lake Zone / Region. In addition to holding the status of a service center, the settlement was also the administrative center of the colonial rulers, in particular, the German rule.

The Shinyanga Municipality Director invites qualified Tanzanians to apply for six (06) job positions in this Council after obtaining approval from the Office of the President, Public Service Management and Good Governance with the following breakdown:-

1.0 DRIVER CLASS II – POSITION 06

1.1 DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS

i. Inspecting the vehicle before and after the trip to determine the safety condition of the vehicle

ii. Sending employees to various locations on business trips

iii. Carrying out minor vehicle repairs

iv. Collecting and distributing various documents

v. Filling and maintaining information on all trips in the log book

vi. Cleaning the vehicle,

vii. Other duties assigned by his/her supervisor

1.2 QUALIFICATIONS OF THE APPLICANT

To be employed with Form Four Education and a Class C or E Driving License that he/she has worked for not less than one year
without causing an accident and also has a certificate that qualifies him/her to obtain the relevant classes. He/she must also have attended the Basic Driving Course provided by the VETA College or another College recognized by the Government.

1.4 GENERAL CONDITIONS OF THE APPLICANT

i. All applicants must be Tanzanian citizens and between 18 and 45 years of age.

ii. All applicants must attach sufficient personal details (Details) which are Form Four or Six certificates for those who have reached that level and certificates of various training qualifications considering the qualifications of the relevant job. Postgraduate/Degree/Advance Diploma/Diploma/Certificates, – Form Four and Six Examination Certificate, Computer Certificate – Professional Certificate from Respective Boards.

iv. “Testimonial”, “Provisional Results”, “Statement of Results”, Form Four and Six Results Slips (FORM IV AND FORM VI RESULTS SLIPS) WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

v. Applicants who studied outside the country should ensure that their certificates are certified by the relevant Authorities (TCU, NECTA and NACTE) and verified by

vi. Retired applicants from the Public Service are not allowed to apply unless they have the approval of the Principal Secretary.

vii. Applicants who are already employed in entry-level positions in the Public Service are not allowed to apply and are required to adhere to the instructions contained in Document No. CAC.45/257/01/D/140 dated 30th November, 2010.

viii. Submission of false information and qualifications will be subject to legal action.

ix. Only those who meet the required qualifications will be called for interview.

x. The deadline for submitting applications is 12/04/2026
