The company deals with multiplication and distribution of agro seeds; importation and distribution of agrochemicals and provision of technical advisory services on farm input use and management. In addition, the company conducts agricultural research in collaboration with national, regional and international research institutes.

In its bid to implement its business development strategies the company is looking for self driving candidates to fill the following vacancies:

Meru Agro-Tours & Consultants Co. Ltd is a registered local private company that was founded in July 2005 and commenced business in October 2006.

As the name implies, Meru agro-Tours & Consultants Co. Ltd intends conduct business in three areas namely, agricultural input and produce, Tourism and Consultation Services

1: Assistant Marketing Officers (17 Posts) – Mbeya, Iringa, Songea, Sumbawanga, Makambako, Ifakara, Masasi, Babati, Korogwe, Kahama, Bariadi, Kasulu, Singida, Tabora & Dodoma.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Shall identify, establish and manage demonstrations plots
2. Shall organize and conduct Farmers Field Days, Radio Adverts, Distribute Small Packs etc
3. Shall prepare and submit daily, weekly and monthly marketing progress report

Minimum Qualifications/Job Specification

1. Shall have Diploma/Certificate in Agriculture, Agronomy, Horticulture, Extensions and Agri-business.
2. At least 1 year work experience in agriculture sector
3. Must have a valid driving license and experience to ride a motorcycle

2: Sales Officers (7 Posts) – Mbeya, Songea, Makambako, Bariadi, Kasulu & Dodoma

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Shall conduct sales trips and meet sales targets as per company plans
2. Shall secure sales deals and establish good relationship with customers
3. Shall prepare and submit daily, weekly and monthly sales progress report

Minimum Qualifications/Job Specification

1. At least 3 years’ work experience as a sales person cum driver in a reputable company
2. Form Four Certificate (Certificate/Diploma in Agriculture will be added advantage)
3. Experience to drive light trucks and valid driving license class ”E” or “D” is a must

3: Commercial Manager (1 Post) – Arusha HQ

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Shall develop and implement strategies to meet financial goals, expand market presence, and improve ROI
2. Shall negotiate and close business deals with customers
3. Shall Draft and manage contracts to ensure favorable terms and minimize business risk
4. Shall manage budgets, expenses, pricing strategies, and profitability analysis.
5. Monitor market trends, identify new business opportunities, and report on commercial performance
6. Build relationships with key clients, suppliers, and internal departments.

Minimum Qualifications/Job Specification

1. Must have at least Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
2. Should have at least 5 years work experience in commercial, business development, or contract management roles.
3. Should have strong analytical and negotiation skills, proficiency in financial forecasting, and excellent leadership abilities

4: Monitoring and Evaluation (M & E) Manager (1 Post) – Arusha HQ

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Shall conduct performance tracking and verification for all field staff
2. Verify reported activities and crosscheck to ensure they are done on time and as per company standards
3. Ensure sales and marketing data are accurate, timely and submitted correctly as per reporting schedules
4. Identify gaps and train staff as well as advice the management on appropriate measures to be taken

Minimum Qualifications/Job Specification

1. At least Bachelor’s degree and must have attended Monitoring and Evaluation course.
2. Proficiency in office software and data analysis applications.
3. Minimum of 3 years of experience in M&E related role

5: Finance Officers (3 Posts) – Arusha HQ

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Assist to analyze financial performance, identifying trends for strategic decision making
2. Assist to coordinate annual company budgeting, stock control and internal audit
3. Prepare and submit timely tax returns, NSSF and WCF Contributions
4. Ensure compliance with all local tax and legal requirements
5. Prepare and keep accurate daily transactions and maintain updated financial system

Minimum Qualifications/Job Specification

1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is a must (Professional certification will be an added advantage).
2. MS Office and knowledge of QuickBooks accounting software.
3. Minimum of three years working experience in related field
4. Excellent analysis and presentation skills and excellent report-writing skills.

6: Content Creator (1 Post) – Arusha HQ

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Designs graphics, posters, and videos for all platforms using Canva, Adobe Suite, Photoshop, InDesign or Illustrator.
2. Research and write high-quality, original, and SEO-friendly posts for company products
3. Conduct keyword research and incorporate SEO best practices into all contents.
4. Shall be responsible to capture field photos and short farmer’s video testimonials to build authentic content.

Minimum Qualifications/Job Specification

1. Diploma in Media & Communication, Journalism, Public Relations and must have attended graphic designing course.
2. At least 2 years of proven work experience in using Canva, Adobe Suite, Photoshop, InDesign or Illustrator
3. Excellent written and verbal communication in English and Swahili

7: Zonal Agronomist (1 Post) – Arusha

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Incharge of all marketing activities (seeds & agrochemicals) within the Zone
2. Shall coordinate, supervise and support marketing team
3. Shall be linking farmers/customers with Agro Dealers/Sales Team
4. Shall prepare and submit weekly and monthly marketing progress report

Minimum Qualifications/Job Specification

1. B.Sc. in Agriculture, Agronomy, Horticulture, Extensions and Agri-business.
2. At least 5 years marketing work experience in a reputable agri-business company
3. Driving experience and possession of a valid driving license class “D” is a must

8: Store Keepers (7 Posts) – Sumbawanga, Makambako, Ifakara, Korogwe, Kasulu, Singida & Dodoma

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Responsible for taking and keeping all records related to daily stock operations and movements.
2. Plans and perform work that involves ordering, receiving, inspecting, loading and off-loading stocks
3. Participate in physical inventory counts in his/her warehouse or store

Minimum Qualifications/Job Specification

1. Should have at least one year work experience as a Store Keeper
2. Holder of Diploma/Certificate in Store Keeping or Material and Logistics Management or Procurement.
3. Should have basic knowledge of computer uses and applications such as Ms Office.

9: Marketing Officers (7 Posts) – Mbeya, Bariadi, Singida, Tabora, Sumbawanga & Babati.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Incharge of seed/agrochemicals marketing activities within the Sales Point
2. Shall supervise Assistant Marketing Officers within the sales point
3. Organize and conduct Farmers Trainings, Demo Plots, Farmers Field Days, etc
4. Shall prepare and submit daily, weekly and monthly marketing progress report

Minimum Qualifications/Job Specification

1. Diploma or Bachelor Degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Horticulture, Extensions and Agri-business.
2. At least 3 years marketing work experience in a reputable agri-business company
3. Driving experience and possession of a valid driving license class “D” is a must
