New Jobs at Royal Soap and Detergent Industries Ltd April 2026, MeTL Group subsidiary Royal Soap and Detergent Industries Ltd started commercial operations in January 2013. The plant manufactures detergent powder, detergent paste and liquid detergent using fully automated technology.
It is located in the Mabibo Industrial Area of the Tanzanian commercial capital, just 15km from Dar es Salaam port, ensuring good transportation links. The plant employs about 200 workers.
Focused on in-house brand development, the company offers original equipment manufacturing (OEM) services for customers who need a local manufacturer for their own brands, both from within Tanzania and abroad.
1: Operator- Plant
Job Description
- Operate the detergent plant as instructed by the Production Executive.
- Check the density of the powder and coordinate with the packing section to ensure proper silo loading.
- Ensure conveyors are cleaned regularly and that off-spec powder is properly collected and handled.
- Monitor perfume pumps and check the intensity of perfume and speckles in the powder after the drum mixer.
- Inspect base powder belts for spillage and ensure that spilled powder is reused immediately.
- Adjust dampers for the dust collection ducts on the first and second floors as required.
- Replace damaged cloths near feeding points when necessary.
- Regularly check the oil levels in belt gearboxes.
- Operate the tower cleaning ring as required.
- Inspect screws on the second floor regularly.
- Adjust Crutcher feeding into the rotating filter to prevent slurry overflow.
- Prevent powder spillage at packing conveyors and drum mixer outlets.
- Collect off-spec powder and promptly send it for reprocessing.
- Clean the rotating filter, perfume pump strainers, and magnetic filter at regular intervals.
- Check perfume tank levels and refill them as needed without spillage. Ensure empty drums are returned to the warehouse promptly.
- Report any production abnormalities caused by electrical or mechanical issues to the Production Executive immediately.
- Restrict access to unauthorized persons in the packing conveyor area.
- Operate the plant in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Suggest actions to improve housekeeping and minimize the generation of off-spec powder.
- Properly hand over duties to the incoming operator before leaving the plant.
- Ensure the safety and security of all company assets under your control.
2: Sulphonation Control Room Operator
Job Description
- Operate and monitor the Sulfonation Plant as instructed by the Production Executive.
- Arrange casual workers as required and ensure they are issued and correctly use personal protective equipment (PPE) throughout the shift.
- Oversee the sulfur melting process and ensure sulfur is fed according to production requirements.
- Measure tank dips regularly and observe levels of sulfur, LAB, water, and other critical tanks.
- Operate valves, pumps, and related equipment per production needs and ensure their proper functionality.
- Monitor cooling tower water levels at regular intervals and maintain them as required.
- Collect and clean spillages near pumps, filters, and production areas promptly to maintain safety.
- Clean all filters, including perfume pump strainers and magnetic filters.
- Drain ESP and oleum tanks when needed, and refill caustic and diesel tanks without spillage.
- Clean steam traps thoroughly before plant startup to ensure efficient operation.
- Handle off‑spec production by reprocessing it or collecting it in drums, minimizing waste.
- Monitor oil levels, pressures, and temperatures of pumps and other equipment, and address abnormalities immediately.
- Clean the reactor, ESP, and cyclone as required to ensure efficient operation.
- Operate and monitor the air‑drying unit to ensure effective performance within required parameters.
- Report any irregularities in the production process caused by mechanical or electrical issues.
- Provide a detailed handover to the incoming shift operator, ensuring they are fully informed of ongoing processes and issues requiring attention.
- Safeguard all company assets within the Sulfonation Plant and ensure proper use of machinery.
- Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) while operating the plant and suggest improvements.
- Maintain a clean and hazard‑free work environment in the Sulfonation Plant by regularly cleaning spills.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments.
- Perform any additional related tasks assigned by management as required.
