Fund Scholarship Opportunity at University of Dodoma 2026/2027, The University of Dodoma (UDOM), in collaboration with the Heidelberg Institute of Global Health (HIGH) at Universitätsklinikum Heidelberg (UKHD) and members of the Africa Research Implementation Science & Education Network (ARISE), is implementing a research project titled “Design and Evaluation of Adolescent Health Interventions and Policies in Sub-Saharan Africa (DASH)”, funded by the German Federal Ministry of Research, Technology, and Space (BMFTR).
The overarching and long-term goal of the DASH Project is to improve adolescent health in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) through rigorous, population-based research focusing on Nutrition and Physical Activity, Sexual and Reproductive Health, Mental Health, and Violence.
By bringing together experts from multiple disciplines and countries across Sub-Saharan Africa, Europe, and the United States, the DASH Project aims to strengthen research infrastructure and generate evidence to inform adolescent health interventions and policies.
The project will address critical knowledge gaps related to the design, effectiveness, and scalability of health interventions and policies, ultimately contributing to improved health, social, and economic outcomes in the region.
DETAILS OF THE SCHOLARSHIP
Based on a Memorandum of Agreement signed between the University o f Dodoma (UDOM) and the German Federal Ministry of Research, Technology, and Space (BMFTR), UDOM invites applications for the Master’s Seed Fund Scholarship under the DASH Project.
This opportunity is open to Master’s students with research interest in the areas of Nutrition and physical activity, Sexual and Reproductive Health, and Mental Health and Violence.
The DASH Seed Fund aims to support outstanding students who are conducting research aligned with the objectives of the DASH Project in Tanzania.
Eligible applicants must have successfully completed their first semester of the first year of their Master studies.
Successful candidates will be required to carry out their Master’s research within the DASH Project framework.
A separate agreement will be signed with each scholarship recipient, outlining research milestones, deliverables, and funding conditions.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Applicants must:
Be Master’s students at a recognized higher learning institution.
Be conducting or planning to conduct research related to the DASH Project focus areas: Nutrition and Physical Activity, Sexual and Reproductive Health, or Mental Health and Violence.
Demonstrate strong academic performance and a clear interest in adolescent health research.
Have proficiency in spoken and written English.
Be willing to participate in DASH-related activities and research dissemination.
