Full Funded Samia Scholarship Extended (DS/AI+)2026/2027, The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology is implementing a special SAMIA SCHOLARSHIP EXTENDED DS/AI+ Program that aims to increase and develop the skills of Tanzanian youth in the fields of Data Science, Artificial Intelligence and Allied Sciences according to the needs of the country’s job market and contribute to National, Regional and International development.

The Ministry announces scholarship opportunities at the Master’s Degree level for graduates with the highest achievement in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, and related disciplines such as Machine Learning, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, and Software Engineering.

B. AREAS OF FUNDING
SAMIA SCHOLARSHIP EXTENDED (DS/AI+) will provide funding for master’s degree studies that include:

i. Tuition Fees;

ii. Food and Accommodation Allowance;

iii. Books and Stationery Allowance;

iv. Special Faculty Needs;

v. Research;

vi. Health Insurance.

C. TARGETED UNIVERSITIES

The scholarship will be awarded to applicants who have taken admission in the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IITM) Zanzibar Campus.

D. ​​DURATION OF SCHOLARSHIP

The students who will be sponsored will be funded for a period of two years starting from the financial year 2026/2027.

E. QUALIFICATIONS OF SCHOLARSHIP APPLICANTS

This scholarship will be awarded to undergraduate students with the following qualifications:

i. Be a Tanzanian;

ii. Be admitted to study the Master of Science in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (M.Tech. in Data Science & Artificial Intelligence) at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, Zanzibar Campus;

iii. Be not more than 35 years of age;

iv. Have done science subjects in Form Six and have high performance, especially in the subject of Advanced Mathematics;

v. Have a minimum GPA of 3.8 in the first degree.

ii. Copy of NIDA ID;

iii. Birth certificate;

iv. Secondary School Certificates;

a. Form IV Certificate;

b. Form VI Certificate;

v. First Degree Certificate;

vi. First Degree Academic Transcript;

vii. Applicant’s CV.

G. SCHOLARSHIP CONDITIONS

A student who will receive SAMIA SCHOLARSHIP EXTENDED (DS/AI+) funding will be required to adhere to the following conditions:

i. He/she must read, understand and sign the Scholarship Agreement between him/her and the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology;

ii. He/she must have a bank account for the funds to be paid directly to him/her;

iii. He/She will not be allowed to change the study program for which he/she has been granted a scholarship without a written approval letter from the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology;

iv. He/She will not be allowed to postpone his/her studies, except for health reasons, and confirmed by the relevant institution;

v. If the beneficiary cancels the scholarship opportunity before the commencement of studies, he/she must submit a written notification to:

H. PROCEDURE FOR SUBMITTING APPLICATIONS FOR SCHOLARSHIPS

i. Applications for Scholarships should be submitted through the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology at the following link: temis.moe.go.tz;

ii. The applicant should include his/her contact information including email and telephone number.
