Job Purpose
The Accountant will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting activities, maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies, and supporting financial reporting processes. The role requires a detail-oriented professional who can contribute to efficient financial operations while maintaining high standards of accuracy and integrity.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Handle day-to-day accounting operations and maintain accurate financial records.
Prepare, review, and process accounting transactions in accordance with established procedures and accounting standards.
Perform bank reconciliations regularly to ensure the accuracy of cash balances and identify any discrepancies.
Conduct account reconciliations to verify the completeness and accuracy of financial information.
Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting regulations, and applicable financial reporting standards.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within the accounting system and ensure proper filing of supporting documentation.
Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Support month-end and year-end closing activities by preparing required schedules and reconciliations.
Participate in internal and external audit processes by providing relevant documentation and responding to audit queries.
Monitor financial transactions to ensure accuracy, completeness, and proper authorization.
Identify and report discrepancies or irregularities in financial records and recommend corrective actions where necessary.
Collaborate with other departments to provide financial support and address operational requirements.
Assist in the preparation of management reports and financial analyses as required.
Support the implementation and improvement of accounting processes and internal controls.
Ensure confidentiality and security of financial information at all times.
Keep abreast of changes in accounting standards, tax regulations, and industry best practices relevant to the role.
Perform any other duties assigned by management in line with the objectives of the position.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of three (3) years of experience in Finance and/or Accounting.
CPA qualification will be an added advantage.
Prior experience working in a reputable manufacturing company is highly preferred.
Experience using SAP or other Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
