Muheza District Council in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, will strive to offer high quality and proper services to its community, derived from priorities set in a participatory and democratic approach, good governance and the rule of law and the sustainable use of available resources to increase their income and improve the quality of life

The District Executive Director of Muheza District Council announces to all citizens of Muheza who are qualified to apply for job vacancies for the collection of taxes, produce levies, and market fees within the Muheza District Council for a duration of one year (12 months) with a contract of three (3) months as follows:

​TAX COLLECTOR (37 POSITIONS)

​Applicant Qualifications

(a) Must have completed standard seven education or higher.

(b) Must have experience using a smartphone (touchscreen).

(c) Must have a National Identification (NIDA) card or NIDA number.

(d) Must not be employed elsewhere and must not be a Public Servant.

Duties and Responsibilities of a Tax Collector

(a) To collect taxes using a Point of Sale (POS) machine and deposit those funds into the bank.

(b) To ensure they safely keep all their revenue collection equipment.

(c) Must be trustworthy in handling government data.

(d) To keep and record statistics in the daily revenue collection ledger.

(e) To ensure all collected funds are deposited into the Council’s bank account and keep the receipts.

​General Conditions for Applicants

(b) All applications must be attached with copies of school leaving certificates.

(c) All applications must be attached with a copy of the National Identification (NIDA) card or NIDA number.

(d) All applications must be attached with the applicant’s personal details (CV), full address, and two guarantors who will be required to write a letter of guarantee along with their phone numbers to facilitate communication.

(e) The deadline for receiving applications is 24/06/2026 at 09:30 AM.

(f) Qualified applicants will be called for an interview.
