Job Vacancies at TANGAUWASA June 2026, On behalf of and Tanga Urban Water Supply and Sanitation Authority (TANGAUWASA), Public Service Recruitment Secretariat (PSRS) invites high caliber, results oriented, selfdriven professionals with integrity, dynamic and suitable qualified Tanzanians to fill five (5) vacant posts mentioned below;
1.0 ARTISAN II WATER LABORATORY – 4 Posts
1.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. To assist in participating in collecting and carrying out water and wastewater sample tests every day to establish the types and quantities of chemicals for water treatment;
ii. To assist in participating in carrying out physical, chemical and bacteriological analysis and recording of water and wastewater;
iii. To assist in participating in carrying out water and wastewater treatment processes;
iv. To assist in recording laboratory investigations;
v. To assist in participating in preparation of chemicals and reagents required for water and wastewater treatment;
vi. To assist in participating in monitoring water quality from reservoirs and other water sources, water treatment plants and water distribution systems; and ensures compliance with drinking water standards and advice;
vii. To assist in participating in ensuring the quality of influent and effluent are within acceptable standards;
viii. To assist in participating in drafting periodical performance reports on laboratory activities; and
ix. To perform any other duties related to the above assigned by supervisor.
1.2 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Holder of a Form IV Certificate with Trade Test Grade II /level II /NTA Level 5 Certificate in Water Laboratory Technology or its equivalent from a recognized institution.

2.0 ENGINEER II (ELECTROMECHANICAL ) – 1 Post
2.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. To participate in planning, designing, installation and testing of electrical systems;
ii. To collect data and information on plants and electrical equipment for improvement of plant performance;
iii. To participate in preparation of project proposals related to electrical works;
iv. To participate in evaluating electrical systems and products by designing and conducting research programs;
v. To study user needs on plant operation and participate in developing electrical solutions;
vi. To assist in testing and assembling electrical systems and monitor their performance;
vii. To prepare maintenance schedules of electrical equipment as per manufacturer’s instructions and established procedures;
viii. To assist in maintenance and repair of electrical equipment;
ix. To participate in planning, designing, installation and testing plant systems;
x. To collect data and information on plants and mechanical equipment for improvement of plant performance;
xi. To participate in preparation of project proposals related to mechanical works;
xii. To participate in evaluating mechanical systems and products by designing and conducting research programs;
xiii. To study user needs on plant operation and participate in developing mechanical solutions;
xiv. To assist in testing and assembling mechanical systems and monitor their performance;
xv. To assist in developing water production and treatment processes by designing and modifying equipment for fabricating, building, assembling, and installing components;
xvi. To prepare maintenance schedules as per manufacturer’s instructions and established procedures;
2.2 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Holder of Bachelor Degree in Electromechanical, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or its equivalent from a recognized University/Institution. Must be registered as a Graduate Engineer by Engineers Registration Board (ERB).
2.3 SALARY SCALE TWASS 5.1
GENERAL CONDITIONS
1. All applicants must be citizens of the United Republic of Tanzania and must not be above 45 years of age. However, for vacancies within Paramilitary Institutions:
Applicants for non-degree posts must not exceed 25 years of age.
Applicants for degree posts must not exceed 30 years of age.
