Teacher Training Program at Degree Level in Primary and basing Education 2026/2027

Teacher Training Program at Degree Level in Primary and basing Education 2026/2027, The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (WyEST) is announcing vacancies for the Training of Teachers in Pre-Primary and Primary Education.

The courses to be offered are Diploma in Teaching in Pre-Primary, Primary and Special Education (02 Years),
Special Diploma in Teaching in Primary Education (03 Years) in the subjects of Science and Mathematics as well as Diploma in Teaching in Pre-Primary and Primary Education via Distance Learning (03 to 04 Years).

These courses will be offered in Government and non-Government Teachers’ Colleges. The Ministry invites applications for admission to the Teacher Training Courses in Government and non-Government Teachers’ Colleges based on the qualifications specified in this advertisement.

2. QUALIFICATIONS FOR ENTRY INTO TEACHING TRAINING

a) The qualifications for entry into the Diploma in Teaching in Primary and Primary Education (02 Years) are:

(i) Form Six graduates with Grade I-III passes at the level of two (02) “Principal Passes”.

(ii) Teachers who have completed Teacher Training at the Diploma (Certificate) Level in Teaching in Primary or Primary Education.

In addition, the selected applicants for the training will be placed on courses according to their performance in the National Teaching Examination at the Diploma in Teaching Education level.

b) The qualifications for entry into the Special Diploma in Teaching in Primary Education (03 Years) are Form Four graduates with Grade I-III passes at the level of a grade of “C” or above in three subjects, two of which are: Basic
Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Information and Computer Studies or Computer Science.

c) Qualifications for admission to the Diploma in Teaching in Primary and Primary Education via Distance Learning (Three (03) to Four (04) Years) are teachers who have completed the Diploma (Certificate) in Teaching in Primary or Primary Education.

Teachers’ Colleges intending to conduct Teacher Training via Distance Learning must apply for Approval from the Commissioner of Education to meet the requirements of the relevant training.

PROCEDURE FOR SUBMITTING APPLICATIONS AND RECEIVING RESPONSES

The procedure for submitting applications and receiving responses will be as follows:

(i) Form Four, Form Six and Teachers who have completed the Diploma in Teaching in Early Childhood and Primary Education, with the qualifications specified in this advertisement are allowed to apply;

(ii) Applicants for Teacher Training in Government Teachers Colleges are required to register and submit applications electronically through the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology’s admission system (https://tcm.moe.go.tz/);

(iii) Applicants for Teacher Training in Early Childhood and Primary Education (Years 03 to 04) through distance learning will be required to submit applications to the relevant colleges located near the work area. In addition, responses to those selected to join the training will be provided by the selected Teachers Colleges
using their addresses.

All applicants are advised to write their full address, email address and contact telephone number.

(iv) Applicants for the Diploma in Teaching in Primary and Primary Education (02 Years) will select three (03) specializations starting with the one they prefer;

(v) ​​Applicants for the Diploma in Teaching in Primary Education (03 Years) will select three (03) specializations starting with the one they prefer;

(vi) Responses to those selected to join Teacher Training in Government Teachers’ Colleges will be provided on the system through the “Account” used by the applicant to apply for Teacher Training (starting from 14/08/2026) and at the selected Teachers’ Colleges;

(vii) Applicants for Teacher Training in non-government colleges will submit their applications to the relevant colleges. In addition, responses to those selected to join the training will be provided by the selected Teachers’ Colleges; and,

(viii) Instructions forms for joining Teacher Training will be provided through the website of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (www.moe.go.tz) and the College to which the applicant will be assigned using his/her address.
