POSITION: Engineer 2 – Software – Fleet Mgt System

OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE

To effectively support and manage Mining Fleet and Fatigue Management System software and hardware to ensure data flow is achieved and to facilitate safe and smooth mining operations toward the attainment of mining goals. To generate production, equipment and other reports needed by management and ensure network coverage to mining active areas while Fleet and Fatigue Management devices in production equipment are working.

ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while working with Fleet and Fatigue Management systems and ensure installations are carried out safely with all necessary precautions taken to prevent accidents or injuries.
  • Assemble, install and configure new hardware kits in production equipment including PTX or field computers, GPS antenna, radio antenna and SmartCap system.
  • Conduct daily inspection of hardware kits installed in production equipment including PTX, GPS, network devices and SmartCap.
  • Create maintenance plans for field computers, GPS, network devices and SmartCap.
  • Perform routine maintenance checks on fleet management systems, troubleshoot faults and repair issues including mechanical failures, network congestion and electrical malfunctions.
  • Conduct quality control on delivered tools and consumables to ensure components meet AGA standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with designers and other technicians to develop and improve fleet management systems and provide feedback on system performance and usability.
  • Read and interpret FMS technical drawings and schematics.
  • Use hand and power tools for assembly, disassembly and repair tasks.
  • Perform audits and monitoring of system functionalities including software configuration on field computers and access points.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Education & Qualification

  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, Electronics Engineering or any other related field.
  • Modular Mining Certificate or any other related mining dispatch software certification.
  • Valid Tanzania driving license class B, D, F or G.
  • Registered by ERB.

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in mining operation.
  • Experience in management of Modular Mining Software or related mining dispatch software.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong understanding of computer application software.
  • Deep understanding of mining dispatch software.
  • Strong understanding of network configuration.
  • Knowledge of database management.
  • Knowledge of back-end and front-end programming language.
  • Excellent communication skills.

POSITION: Paramedic – Health

ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Respond to medical emergencies on and off site and provide prehospital emergency care.
  • Participate in mine rescue operations, emergency preparedness activities and evacuation drills.
  • Conduct clinical assessments and basic medical procedures, and support physicians with medical procedures, occupational health assessments, diagnostic testing and patient transfers.
  • Monitor, stabilize and escort patients during medical evacuations while ensuring continuity of care.
  • Inspect and maintain emergency equipment, first aid supplies and clinical equipment, while supporting infection prevention and medical stock control.
  • Deliver health education, patient counselling and first aid training, maintain records and reports, communicate effectively with relevant teams, and support workplace health and safety initiatives.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Education & Qualification

  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in paramedicine, EMS or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • Certifications in BLS, ACLS, ITLS, advanced airway management and defibrillator operation.
  • Registered with MCT or the TNMC and holder of a valid practicing license.

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years’ working experience in a clinical, emergency or intensive care unit setting.
  • Experience in responding to trauma, medical emergencies and mass casualty incidents.
  • Experience in ambulance operation and patient transport.
  • Experience working independently with minimal supervision.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Patient assessment, emergency treatment and diagnostic capability.
  • Proficiency in triage, CPR, defibrillation, ECG interpretation, IV and IO access, airway management, haemorrhage control, and fracture and spine injury management.
  • Ability to use specialist equipment including ventilators and defibrillators.
  • Excellent communication skills and calm decision making under pressure.
  • Teamwork, collaboration, compassion, professionalism, ethical practice and confidentiality.
  • Physical fitness for emergency response duties and ability to work long shifts, including nights and adverse weather conditions.

3: POSITION Technical Specialist – HME Maintenance UG

OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE

Diagnose faults on mechanical and electrical systems and perform breakdown repairs and servicing of heavy mining equipment. Train and coach Tanzanian nationals on the job to ensure effective skills transfer in line with set development plans. Establish and execute technical development plans for key national mechanics to improve competency within the department.

ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Maintain strong awareness and management of safety, health, and environmental aspects in the workplace and commit full capability to assigned work.
  • Act as both technical specialist and trainer/coach to ensure effective transfer of skills and knowledge to junior national mechanics according to development plans.
  • Advise the Superintendent of any conditions that could create obstacles or opportunities for the managerial team or company.
  • Demonstrate work behaviors consistent with company values and within prescribed boundaries, policies, standards, procedures, and legislation.
  • Disclose timely information to the manager when accountabilities cannot be met within time limits or can be met with fewer resources.
  • Prepare repair reports with photos of each major failure and ensure proper documentation.
  • Support the team to comply with work schedules while attending to emerging work efficiently to optimize equipment availability and reliability.
  • Support the workforce to work safely by identifying and managing workplace hazards associated with the tasks being performed.
  • Provide expert advice to underground maintenance supervisors and trades personnel engaged in maintenance of the mining fleets as directed by the superintendents.
  • Develop the scope of underground work for major works associated with the underground mining fleet.

Experience

  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in heavy mining underground equipment maintenance and repair.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Previous experience in a similar role or time spent working on mechanical components on the equipment.
  • Principles and techniques for working with groups and fostering effective team interaction.
  • Implementation, evaluation, and work standards.
  • Extensive experience with the maintenance of Sandvik and Caterpillar underground mining equipment.
  • Expert knowledge and experience with the tools and equipment used in the maintenance of the GGM underground mining fleet.
  • Knowledge of equipment inspection and routine servicing procedures to be used at GGM.
  • Expert knowledge in planning and execution of major maintenance for the underground mining fleet including undercarriage and major component replacement project work.
  • Extensive knowledge of record keeping.
  • Ability to operate required tools and equipment in a safe and accountable manner.
  • Ability to use approved work methods to solve problems.
  • Ability to read and write to maintain daily logs.
