1: Finance Officer 

Position Overview 

Educate! the largest youth skills service provider in East Africa, is seeking a Finance Officer to join our team in Tanzania.

We are looking for a detailed-oriented and proactive professional to support the financial operations of our Tanzania office.

The Finance Officer will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial record-keeping, processing transactions in QuickBooks online, reconciling accounts, enforcing financial controls, and managing accounts receivable. Additionally, they will train staff on finance procedures and compliance.

What You’ll Do

Financial Record-Keeping & Transaction Management (50%)

  • Accurately post all financial transactions into QuickBooks or any other accounting software used by Educate!.
  • Prepare and enter journal vouchers while ensuring proper coding and documentation.
  • Reconcile ledger accounts and review bank statements to prepare journal entries.
  • Follow up with the Finance Coordinator to ensure daily posting of payment vouchers and accountabilities.
  • Generate and review daily transaction posting reports to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Complete all monthly postings and reconcile accounts by the 7th working day of the new month.

Compliance & Financial Controls (20%)

  • Maintain detailed records of supporting documentation for all payment transactions.
  • Ensure all staff accountabilities align with Educate!’s financial policies, including the Common Cost framework.
  • Verify completeness of all vouchers before posting, ensuring all necessary attachments are included.
  • Identify and flag any policy compliance issues to the Finance Manager for corrective action.
  • Enforce internal financial controls and ensure adherence to Educate!’s financial procedures.

Accounts Receivable & Reconciliation (20%)

  • Track and follow up on outstanding accounts receivable before closing the monthly report.
  • Manage staff advance accounts in QuickBooks, ensuring timely review and reconciliation.
  • Provide staff with regular status reports on outstanding advances and accountabilities.
  • Ensure returned balances from staff are correctly recorded and deposited in the bank.
  • Reconcile accountabilities against advances before posting to prevent partial accounting.

Training & Staff Support (10%)

  • Support onboarding of new staff on finance procedures, systems, documentation and accountability requirements.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance to staff on the correct use of finance forms, supporting documentation and accountability processes.
  • Respond to routine finance queries and follow up with staff to resolve documentation or accountability gaps.
  • Support Finance-led training and feedback sessions by identifying recurring compliance or process challenges and sharing practical guidance with staff.
  • Escalate recurring or significant compliance and process issues to the Finance Coordinator or Finance Manager for follow-up.

Who You Are 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field, with 1–2 years of practical experience in accounting or finance.
  • Skilled in QuickBooks and MS Office, especially Excel, with a strong eye for detail to ensure effective financial controls.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to manage tasks effectively and maintain accuracy.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with others.
  • High level of integrity and a proactive approach to solving problems, with a consistent focus on delivering results.

2: Finance Manager

Position Overview 

Educate!, an award winning non-profit social enterprise is seeking an enthusiastic, systems-oriented, ethical and analytical individual with great interpersonal and communication skills to fill the Finance Manager position.

She/he will be the finance lead in the organization ensuring the implementation of accounting and financial management functions, design and co-ordinate the implementation of sound accounting and financial management and control systems and procedures for all operational and administrative areas and to facilitate the maintenance of accurate and up to date financial and accounting records for effective and smooth running of all business operations under fast changing and complex circumstances.

Who You Are 

  • BSc. in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration or Commerce
  • Must be a Member of CPA (T) (NBAA) in good standing
  • Proficiency in Ms. Excel and QuickBooks.
  • Finance & Accounting experience working in a non-profit environment.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of finance and accounting experience, including finance, accounting, audit, and analysis (including gathering, evaluating, presenting, and reporting financial information to management and external stakeholders).
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of managerial experience leading finance teams and cross-function collaborations.
  • Solid experience in coordinating audit activities and managing reporting, budget development and analysis, accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, payroll, and accounting.
  • Entrepreneurial drive and proven ability to take ownership and lead the team’s combined learning.
  • Collaborative, data-oriented approach to problem-solving.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a self-directed manner, seeking out areas that need attention rather than being asked to look at specific problem areas.

3: Program Coordinator – Tanzania

Mwanza and Arusha,Tanzania

Position Overview 

As Educate! Tanzania scales to over 1,000 schools across Cohort 2, the Program Coordinator is the operational engine of the hub program team. The role exists to take ownership of the coordination, events, data, and administrative workload that would otherwise sit with the Hub Program Manager — freeing the PM to focus on managing and developing the Program Officer team and on program strategic planning.

The Program Coordinator is a hands-on coordinator and organizer, not a people manager. Program Officers report directly to the Hub Program Manager; the PC works alongside POs as a peer-level support function, ensuring that trainings, events, stakeholder engagements, data flows, and financial processes run smoothly, on time, and to standard.
