Role Overview

AzamPesa is seeking an agile and experienced Head of Human Resources to serve as a strategic partner to the executive leadership team. In this role, you will shape and drive the company’s people strategy, talent acquisition, and organizational culture in a fast-paced fintech environment.

Responsibilities

Formulate and execute a comprehensive people strategy, systems, and policies to support organizational growth.

Coordinate all core HR functions to ensure efficiency across the employee lifecycle.

Drive culture initiatives and employee engagement programs that foster a high-performance culture.

Oversee end-to-end talent acquisition, succession planning, and employer branding.

Ensure full compliance with all labour laws, employment regulations, and statutory requirements.

Design and manage competitive remuneration, benefits, and reward frameworks.

Champion company-wide learning and development programs.

Develop, evaluate, and optimize performance management systems.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.

A Master’s degree, such as an MBA or MSc in Human Resources or Organizational Development, is an added advantage.

Active membership or certification with a Human Resources Management Association or other relevant professional body is an added advantage.

Professional Experience

8 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 to 5 years in a senior HR management or leadership role.

Demonstrated experience working within fast-paced industries such as fintech, telecommunications, financial services, or banking in Tanzania.

Deep knowledge of Tanzanian labour laws, statutory mandates, and regulatory frameworks.
