Scholarship Opportunity at University of Copenhagen (UCPH), Denmark., KCMC University, through its partnership under the University Partnership for Immunology and Vaccinology Capacity in Africa (UPIVAC Africa) Project (https://um.dk/en/foreign policy/africascentury), invites applications from eligible and highly motivated Tanzanian graduates for three scholarships to pursue a Master of Science (MSc) in Immunology and Inflammation at the University of Copenhagen (UCPH), Denmark.
Programme Timeline
The formal MSc programme at the University of Copenhagen will commence in September 2027.
Successful candidates will, however, be required to participate in pre-programme onboarding and
innovation courses during the weeks preceding the start of the MSc programme.
These preparatory activities are intended to familiarize scholars with the programme, expectations, partners and learning environment, and to provide relevant innovation and professional development skills.
Applicants should therefore note that there will be a period between final scholarship selection and
the formal commencement of the MSc programme in September 2027.
Further information on the dates and arrangements for the onboarding and innovation courses will be provided to successful candidates.
Scholarship Coverage
The 2-year scholarship is fully funded and will cover essential costs for the duration of the MSc
programme at the University of Copenhagen. It includes:
• International return flight between the home country and Denmark
• Health and travel insurance for the study period
• A monthly living stipend to cover accommodation and basic living expenses in Denmark, in accordance with the applicable scholarship rates.
For the 2027–2029 intake, three scholarships are available to eligible Tanzanian applicants through
this call.
About the UPIVAC Project
The UPIVAC project aims to strengthen immunology and vaccinology capacity in Africa through
joint education and innovation initiatives from 2026–2032.
Across the wider UPIVAC Africa partnership, six to eight African MSc students from Tanzania and Ghana are expected to be supported each year to enroll in the MSc in Immunology and Inflammation at UCPH, including a newly introduced Vaccinology Course.

Eligible Academic Backgrounds
Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree in relevant biological, biomedical, medical sciences or
health-related discipline that meets the admission requirements of the University of Copenhagen,
including:

A minimum GPA of 3.5 on a 5.0 scale is required.
English Language Proficiency
As the MSc programme is delivered in English, applicants must demonstrate sufficient proficiency
in written and spoken English to successfully participate in the programme.
Shortlisted candidates may be required to provide additional evidence of English proficiency and/or meet the University of Copenhagen’s formal English-language admission requirements before final admission to the MSc programme.

All application materials must be combined into one single PDF document containing:
1. Motivation letter (1page)
2. Updated Curriculum Vitae (CV), maximum 2 pages, preferably prepared using the Europass CV format, highlighting academic qualifications, research experience, publications/presentations, professional experience, leadership and relevant extracurricular activities.
Certified copies of certificates and academic transcripts (from Ordinary Level to Bachelor’s degree)
3. Two (2) signed recommendation letters from academic or professional referees who are familiar with the applicant’s academic ability, research potential, professional conduct
and/or leadership potential.
For employed applicant, at least one letter must be from the employer confirming institution support and willingness to release the applicant for the full
2 years study period.
