24 New Volunteer Vacancies at Benjamin Mkapa Hospital May 2026, The Benjamin Mkapa Hospital (BMH) was fomally established under the Government Notice No.453 of 2015 which was gazette by the government on 16h October, 2015 as atertiary, referral hospital with a purpose of addressing the need for advanced, specialized healthcare services in Tanzania, to be provided through acquisition of high-tech,
ultramodern diagnosticequipment, skilled staff and advanced treatment.
The hospital has 400 bed capacity that serves both in and out patient from within and outside the country.At this momentthe hospital provides a broad range of health services including Emergency medicine, IntensiveCare Unit (1CU), Imaging (Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Computerized Tomography Scan (CT scan), Mammography, X-ray, Uitrasound, angiography, Cath-lab, Laboratory services,surgical Services and radiotherapy
services.
For the purposes of improving operationalefficiency, the hospital is looking for energetic and dynamic Tanzanians to fill the following vacant positions on Volunteer terms: –
1.0 NURSING OFFICER I –14 POSTS
1.1 DUTIESAND RESPONSIBILITIES
Taking general nursing care of patients.
Collecting essential medical data.
Counselling patients.
Educating patients on their health problems.
Ordering drugs from pharmacy and ward equipment from stores
Adhering to the rules and regulationsof Dangerous Drug Act (DDA).
Giving health education to patientsand relatives.
Apply the installed integrated hospital management informationsystems in all activities and reporting.
Communicating internally and externally by using the ICT.
Adhering to the prescribed inpatients and outpatients’treatment manual and procedures.
Participating in carryingout prescribed instructions.
Ensure adherence to standard operating procedure and BMH business process; and
To perform any other related official duties as may be assigned by higher authorities.
1.2 QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
Holder of Bachelor Degree in oneof the following fields: Nursing, Midwifery or equivalernt qualifications from recognized institutions plus successful completion of Internshipand is registered with Tanzania Nurses and Midwives Council.
Also, the applicant should be fluent in English with proven ability to communicate both verbally and in writing, with clarity and accuracy, especially when interacting with English-speaking patients.

2.0 ASSISTANT NURSING OFFICERS I – 10POSTS
2.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Taking general nursing care of patients
Collecting essential medical data.
Educating patients on their health problems.
Adhering to the rules and regulations of Dangerous Drug Act (DDA).
Administering drugs and other treatments as prescribed by medical doctors.
Giving health education to patients and their relatives.
Conducting ward rounds.
Counselling patients.
Making follow-upsof working equipment in his/her working area.
Ensure adherence to standard operating procedure and BMH business procesS; and
To perform any other related official duties as may be assigned by higher authorities.
2.2 QUALIFICATION ANDEXPERIENCE
Holder of Diploma in one of the following fields: Nursing, Midwifery or equivalent qualifications from recognized institutions and licensed by the Tanzania Nurses and Midwives Council.
