1: Assistant Branch Accountant
Job Summary:
The Branch Accountant is responsible for the financial operations of a company’s branch office. This includes preparing financial statements, reconciling accounts, managing cash flow, preparing budgets and offering support on all administrative and clerical works at the Branch. The Branch Accountant also plays a key role in ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform daily functions including payments, recording all cash, check and bank transfer transactions, maintain cash and bank ledgers, monitor cash advances and field expenses and any other related reconciliations.
Prepare financial statements for the branch office, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
Reconciling sales accounts to bank statements and other financial records to ensure that all transactions have been properly recorded.
Reconcile accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank accounts
Manage cash flow and ensure that the branch office has sufficient funds to meet its obligations
Prepare budgets for the branch office
Analyze financial data and prepare reports for the Branch Manager
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations
Assist with audits and inspections
Provide support to other branch personnel on financial matters
Working on all administrative duties at the branch inline with People and Culture department, which includes but not limited to meal allowances preparation and reports for the staff eligible, leave reports, attendance reports, etc
Perform other duties as assigned.
Educational and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor Degree or Diploma in accounting/Finance or related field
An excellent written and oral command in Kiswahili and English
Knowledge of general accounting principals
Proficient in relevant computer software
Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements
2+ years in Finance/Accounting or related field experience
Working Conditions:
Working station is Dar es salaam – Tanzania
The Branch Accountant will be required to work as per East Africa Foods Ltd working conditions in terms of working hours and days and when necessary, employee may be required to work beyond working hours
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities or Required Competencies:
Deadline-oriented and an ability to stick to time constraints
Ability to communicate and interact well with people of different educational, cultural and socio-economic backgrounds
Must be: organized, disciplined, and detail oriented
Strong relational skills and financial management experience
Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
Ability to work independently, unsupervised
Ability to give direction and provide assistance to others
2: Accounts Payable Officer
Job Location: Dar es SalaamJob Summary:
The Accounts Payable Officer is responsible for timely vendor payments, accurate data maintenance, and fostering positive supplier relationships. This includes pay runs, reporting, reconciliations and being the first point of contact for Debtors chasing payment. The Accounts Payable Officer also plays a key role in ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform daily functions including Receive, process, and verify invoices (Corporate) and review of branches payables and ensure timely payment
Review and schedule payments to vendors
Ensure Timely posting of corporate Bills in the systems
Reconcile accounts payable and Maintain accurate records of transactions
Reconciliations of respective ledgers and bank/wallet accounts
Manage vendor relationships (resolve disputes and ensure timely payments)
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations
Assist with audits and inspections
Provide support to other Company personnel on need basis
Perform other duties as assigned.
