Vacancies at Tanzania Public Government Lawyers Association (TPBA) June2026, The Tanzania Public Government Lawyers Association (TPBA) is a professional organization that brings together Government Lawyers in Tanzania with the aim of strengthening the legal profession, promoting good governance, enhancing professional ethics, and improving the delivery of legal services across the country.

As part of its commitment to improving institutional performance and service delivery, TPBA invites applications from qualified and competent Tanzanians to fill the following positions:

1. Planning Officer II (1 Position)

Key Responsibilities

A. Management of Association Programs

Plan, prepare, and implement the Association’s annual work plans and budgets.

Coordinate and supervise the day-to-day implementation of TPBA programs.

Ensure proper utilization of Association resources in accordance with approved plans.

Monitor program implementation to ensure objectives and targets are achieved.

Identify and address challenges affecting program implementation.

Coordinate communication and engagement with various stakeholders.

Prepare and submit program progress reports to the Association Secretary.

Perform daily administrative and operational duties as assigned.

Carry out any other duties assigned by the Association Secretary.

B. Management of Association Projects

Coordinate project planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.

Prepare project proposals, budgets, and funding applications.

Supervise project activities in line with approved work plans.

Prepare and submit project progress reports.

Conduct research and analysis on development opportunities for the Association.

Collect information for planning and budgeting processes.

Prepare annual plans and budgets.

Manage relationships with development partners and stakeholders.

Perform any other duties assigned by the Association Secretary.

Qualifications

Applicants must:

Hold a Bachelor’s Degree or Postgraduate Diploma in Planning, Investment and Development Planning, Financial Planning, Human Resource Management Planning, Economics, Statistics, Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

Have at least two (2) years of experience in project and budget management.

Demonstrate the ability to prepare project proposals.

Possess strong ICT and computer skills, including modern project management systems.

Be capable of working independently and collaboratively.

Possess Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) skills, which will be considered an added advantage.

2. Office Operations Officer (1 Position)

Key Responsibilities

Open and close the office on time.

Receive and distribute documents, letters, and parcels within and outside the office.

Maintain office cleanliness and the surrounding environment.

Receive visitors and direct them appropriately.

Monitor office supplies and report shortages to the supervisor.

Maintain office records and documentation.

Type letters and various office documents.

Manage office filing systems and registries.

Assist in organizing meetings, seminars, and Association events.

Coordinate appointments and schedules for Association leaders.

Support daily operational activities in collaboration with the Planning Officer.

Perform any other duties assigned by the management.

Qualifications

Applicants must:

Have completed Form IV or Form VI education.

Hold a Diploma in Secretarial Studies from a recognized institution.

Have passed Kiswahili or English shorthand with a speed of at least 100 words per minute.

Be proficient in:

    • Microsoft Word
    • Microsoft Excel
    • Microsoft PowerPoint
    • Internet and Email

Have strong communication and record-keeping skills.

Be trustworthy, disciplined, hardworking, and self-motivated.

Be physically fit and capable of performing office duties.

Previous experience in office administration or public institutions will be an added advantage.

General Requirements for All Applicants

Applicants must:

Be Tanzanian citizens.

Submit an application letter, either handwritten or typed.

Attach a detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV) including reliable contact information and details of two referees with reachable phone numbers.

Attach copies of academic and professional certificates, birth certificate, or National ID.

Ensure certificates obtained outside Tanzania are verified by the relevant authorities.

Be willing to work under a two-year contract.

Be aged between 18 and 35 years.

Be ready to work in Dodoma Region.

Perform duties under the supervision of the Association Secretary.

Note that only shortlisted candidates will be invited for interviews.
