24 Job Vacancies at Bagamoyo Sugar Limited July 2026, At the behest of the Tanzanian Government, the green field project of Bagamoyo Sugar Limited (Bagamoyo Sugar), a unit of Bakhresa Group, was incorporated on 01 December 2016, to grow sugar cane in the nucleus estate and produce sugar at Makurunge, Bagamoyo District.

The main objective of the project is not only reducing dependence on sugar imports and attaining self-sufficiency, but also producing surplus sugar for export. It is the first time that this project is being implemented in Tanzania at this scale.

The sugar plant is being supplied by Thyssenkrupp India Pvt Ltd, a German company based in India and the farm is supported for irrigation using state-of-the-art digital farm technology, from Netafim, an Israeli-based company.

The project implementation is going on as per schedule to start commercial production by mid-2022. In phase 1 of the project, it is estimated to produce about 30,000 tonnes of sugar.

1: POSITION: LIGHT VEHICLE DRIVER

Vacancies: Three (03)

Qualifications

Must have at least two (2) years of driving experience.

Must not have been dismissed from any previous employment.

Must be a Tanzanian citizen aged 18 years or above.

Must possess a VETA/NIT Certificate.

3: POSITION: IRRIGATION SUPERVISOR

Workplace: Bagamoyo

Duties and Responsibilities

Monitor daily activities of the irrigation technical team.

Assist the Irrigation Engineer in preparing irrigation and fertigation programs as instructed.

Set targets and effectively work to achieve them.

Participate in various field activities within the zone in coordination with Block Supervisors.

Lead inspection of irrigation systems as per the provided schedule.

Oversee maintenance programs as per the provided schedule.

Maintain continuous focus on safety and injury prevention.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills Required

Diploma in Irrigation and Water Resource Engineering, Civil and Irrigation Engineering, or a related technical field.

Three (3) years of experience in an irrigation project, preferably in the sugar industry (added advantage).
