1: Credit Department, Tanzania. Unit Head Credit

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Deputize the Head of Credit

Championing overall credit risk management of the department whilst ensuring operation within agreed policy frameworks.

Effective leadership and oversight of the credit analysis and credit administration functions.

Sanction of credit within delegated approval limits.

Accountable for delivery of desired customer experience by executing within SLA.

Ensure accurate and timely preparation of all credit reports (internal and external).

Continuous Internal and External stakeholder engagement and management.

Accountable for sound portfolio performance and management within agreed risk appetite metrics.

Contribute to continuous improvement in processes, policies, products and knowledge share.

Continuous proactive risk awareness and management.

Management of banks credit audits both internal and external and championing closure of audit issues as per agreed timelines in the auditor’s report

DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Analyze credit risk on applications and make appropriate recommendation/approval.

Ensure compliance with credit policies and BOT prudential guidelines lending.

Ensure an efficient turnaround time for applications is maintained.

Daily tick back of disbursement reports

Daily Tracking of accounts in excess and keep feedback from business level.

MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education Bachelors Degree Business, Accounting, Finance

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Increased business propositions that include deposits, assets to small and medium enterprises

Growth and maintenance of the current business banking portfolio

Reinforce Branch Sales Strategy.

Improve Customer satisfaction and Customer Retention

Achieve budgeted business for Business Banking within the Branch

DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Appraise customer proposals and make recommendations

Build customer relationships through call visits

Prepare customer profiles for cross selling opportunities

3: SQC Manager

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: MUST NOT BE MORE THAN 10

  • Effective and efficient management of Bank resources
  • Coordination of operations processes 
  • Mitigating against operational risks

DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES: NOT MORE THAN 5 OF THE MOST TYPICAL

Service Quality

  • To offer customer satisfaction through operational effectiveness, efficiencies and customer complaints resolution.
  • To ensure adequate resourcing of front office positions for cash and non-cash tellers including the ATMs.
  • Ensure proper cash management within the branch and maintain sufficient cash reserves for daily transactions.
  • Proactively coordinate the education, coaching, training and support in the branch team to ensure all staff are technically developed and trained in all aspects of Branch operations, and compliance in order to deliver efficient service delivery.
  • Ensure Business continuity and optimal resource allocation/utilization.
  • Consulting within the branch to provide feedback and opinions with regard to new projects/processes/initiatives based on various requirements by specific areas.

Compliance

  • Coordinate and provide support to branch to ensure risks are proactively managed through the embedded process of proactively identifying, assessing, mitigating, and controlling, monitoring, measuring and reporting all events that have risk exposure potential.
  • Preparing reports to the chain of command and Group Risk function all risks identified to facilitate prudent risk mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure branch registers &KRI’s are kept up to date, and event/loss incidents are maintained
  • Maintain focus on ethical conduct in the branch at all times in order to safeguard and enhance the bank’s reputation for probity, transparency and accountability.
  • Coordinate compliance with anti-money laundering policies and procedures as guided by the Operations Manual and the AML/KYC manuals.
  • Together with the Retail Region Teams & Branch Management ensure effective resolution of Audit issues.
  • Periodically conduct self-assessment to ensure continuous adherence to policies and procedures
  • Ensure adherence to policies, processes, procedures as per documented operating standards (e.g. SOP’S) In order to enhance internal controls in order to reduce frauds and forgeries.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Monitor cash movement in BOT clearing accounts, EAPS, and NOSTRO accounts.
  • Preparation of treasury daily T24 Profit and Loss reports
  • Reconciliation and reversing of FX suspense accounts.
  • Preparations of cash holding reports and advice the branches.
  • Verification of all SWIFT messages
  • Checking of GAP report and advising the dealers on the overdrawn accounts.

DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES: ELABORATE UP TO 5 OF THE MOST TYPICAL

  • Ensure all the above are done as per the Policies, Procedures and Timelines SLA.

Job Description

  • Process all the counter transactions accurately in accordance with the set objectives.
  • Introduce alternative channels to customers to reduce traffic in branches according to bank SOP’s.
  • Cross-sell products based on customer potential and needs without affecting their primary work and service standards contributing in the achievement of the branches KPIs.
  • Adhere to the bank standards related to the average waiting & serving time in addition to the productivity reports.
  • Handle customer requests efficiently and raise any problems to the Head Teller/SQC Manager in order to meet customer satisfaction & to reach customer delight
  • Maintain zero cash shortages and excesses at counter to ensure maximum control on cash balance
  • Follows all relevant department policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
  • Maintain regular consistent and professional attendance, punctuality, personal appearance, and adherence to relevant health & safety procedures

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.    To offer quality cash services

2.    To ensure that customer account and instruments details are correctly captured

3.    Ensure that cheques presented are correctly captured

4.    Ensure that the names of the payee tallies with the name of the account and the beneficiary account on the deposit slip

5.    Ensure that cheques are properly drawn in all respects

6.    Ensure that the payee number is correctly indicated on the reverse of all cheque deposits

7.    Ensure that the deposit slips and the corresponding cheques have crossing stamp.

DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.    To receive and post cash deposits, cheque deposits and money orders

2.    To make cash payments against authorized instruments.

3.    To issue cheque-on-selves against covers

4.    To give cash change

5.    To ensure that cash held in the till is adequate

6.    Lodge excess cash/currency in the strong room

7.    Ensure that cash held in the till at the end of business day tallies with the user’s cash analysis report

8.    Compile and submit cash returns in respect of own general ledger accounts.
