Technical Expertise, skills & Knowldge
Essential
Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, Agricultural Economics, Environmental Science, or Agribusiness.
Minimum of five (5) years’ experience identifying market linkages and implementing climate-resilient business practices (for example solar drying, sustainable fishing or seaweed value addition).
Knowledge on Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA) practices to increase productivity, strengthen resilience and reduce emissions among target communities including drip irrigation and rain water harvesting, drought tolerant seed varieties etc
Proven experience with at least two (2) comparable consultancies since 2019 focused on developing value-added products and implementing environmental sustainability measures within community-based economic programmes.
Demonstrated ability to turn environmental constraints into business opportunities.
Experience working in Zanzibar
Experience in the World Bank or other international organization
Desirable
- Experience with Blue Economy and coastal value chains in Zanzibar or mainland coastal Tanzania.
- Working proficiency in Kiswahili.
- Strong English writing and presentation skills
- Familiarity with green economy financing mechanisms.
- Familiarity with the Blue economy and community based empowerment models
2: Financial Literacy & Cooperative Specialist
Technical Expertise, skills & Knowledge
Essential
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Cooperative Management.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience training rural groups on VICOBA/VSLA models, bookkeeping, and the legal process of forming cooperatives in Tanzania or Zanzibar (with a preferance for Zanzibar experience).
- Proven experience with at least two (2) comparable consultancies focused on providing financial literacy to cooperatives and economic groups.
- Expertise in translating complex financial concepts for low-literacy audiences.
- Experience working in Zanzibar
- Experience in the World Bank or other international donors
Desirable
- Experience with cooperative development frameworks specific to Zanzibar.
- Working proficiency in Kiswahili.
- Strong English writing and presentation skills
- Familiarity with digital financial tools for community-based groups.
- Familiarity with green economy financing mechanisms.
- Familiarity with the Blue economy and community based empowerment models
3: Training Specialist
Technical expertise, skills and knowledge
Essential
- Degree in Education, Instructional Design, or Communications.
- Proven track record in developing Kiswahili training manuals, visual aids, and participatory adult-learning tools.
- Expertise in Training of Trainers (ToT) methodology.
- Proven experience with at least two (2) comparable consultancies using Participatory Adult Learning (PAL) techniques, tailored for rural women’s groups with varying literacy levels in a similar socio-economic environment.
Desirable
- Experience developing accessible and disability-inclusive training formats.
- Working proficiency in Kiswahili.
- Strong English writing and presentation skills
- Experience designing materials for coastal or Zanzibar community contexts.
- Computer literacy and curriculum development software is an added advantage
4: Team Leader – Business Development Services
Qualifications and Experience:
Essential
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Entrepreneurship, or a related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience leading Business Development Services (BDS) projects.
- Demonstrated experience managing World Bank or similar donor-funded projects.
- Successful completion of at least two (2) similar assignments in the last three years involving business development.
- Expert-level command of market systems development and strategic planning.
- Experience in the world Bank or other international donors
Knowledge
- Prior experience delivering assignments in the mainland or Zanzibar or the coastal regions of Tanzania.
- Experience working in Zanzibar
- Working proficiency in Kiswahili.
- Strong English writing and presentation skills
- Familiarity with the Blue Economy and community-based economic empowerment models.
- Familiarity with Climate Smart Agriculture practices
