Job Vacancies at TMHS Group July 2026, To drive the growth of TMHS Safety Solutions’ Chemical Business Unit by identifying and securing customers, managing supplier relationships, providing technical support on chemical products, ensuring regulatory compliance, and overseeing the safe handling, storage, and distribution of chemicals.

1: Safety Officer  

Job Summary:

The Safety and Quality Officer shall support OHS and Quality Assurance across all TMHS and Customer Services, and be responsible for devising and establishing Safety and Quality procedures, standards, and specifications. She/he shall promote Safety and Quality Improvement across all processes and procedures of the TMHS and Customers, and share reports as required.

Responsibilities.

  • Oversee, monitor, evaluate, control, and carry out frequent inspection and testing of company OHS equipment and systems to ensure they operate efficiently and effectively.
  • Timely diagnose and solve any customer complaints or operating system/equipment malfunction/ breakdown within 24 hours; failure to do so shall be communicated to the Head of Department for further action.
  • Prepare and process all tender applications and execution of OHS consultancy works.
  • Identify, obtain, update, and maintain necessary certifications and accreditations required for the company to conduct OHS consultancy works
  • Identify, rob and liaise with companies/institutions/firms/organizations that need OHS consultancy services so that the company achieves working contracts with them.
  • Do thorough competitor and customer survey/analysis, eventually develop user-friendly and cost-effective OHS packages so that the company becomes the best OHS services provider in Tanzania
  • Submit monthly and annual progress reports to the Head of Department or as directed from time to time.
  • Performs HSE activities including consultancy, training, and any other safety programs as necessary.
  • Business Development, Marketing and ensuring profitable HSE consultancy operations
  • And other assigned tasks

Education Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety (OHS), Quality Assurance, Environmental Science.
  • Relevant professional certifications in HSE/OHS (OSHA compliance certifications) are a strong advantage.

Other Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience: Proven professional experience working in an HSE, quality assurance, or technical safety environment (ideally including business development or corporate marketing).
  • Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of Tanzanian OHS regulations, industry standards, and compliance frameworks.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Exceptional diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities with a strict adherence to the 24-hour turnaround policy.
  • Commercial Acumen: Demonstrated background in business development, preparing tender applications, and driving profitable consultancy operations.
  • Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for client engagement, networking, and reporting

2: Chemical Operation Technician

Job Purpose

To drive the growth of TMHS Safety Solutions’ Chemical Business Unit by identifying and securing customers, managing supplier relationships, providing technical support on chemical products, ensuring regulatory compliance, and overseeing the safe handling, storage, and distribution of chemicals.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development, Customer and Supplier Relationship Management

  • Identify, develop, and pursue new business opportunities for chemical products and services across key sectors including mining, manufacturing, construction, oil & gas, hospitality, healthcare, water treatment plants, laboratories, and government institutions.
  • Develop and maintain a robust customer and prospect database, conduct market intelligence activities, and actively engage potential clients through visits, presentations, and business meetings.
  • Prepare quotations, proposals, tender documents, and technical submissions; follow up on inquiries and leads to secure sales and achieve agreed revenue and business growth targets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction, retention, and business continuity.
  • Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling TMHS products and services, including chemicals, safety solutions, training, emergency response, waste management, and compliance services.
  • Negotiate commercial agreements, pricing structures, and contract terms with customers and business partners while ensuring profitability and customer satisfaction.
  • Source chemical products and related materials from local and international suppliers, evaluate supplier capabilities, negotiate pricing and supply agreements, and maintain strategic supplier relationships to ensure reliable and cost-effective supply chains.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, customer requirements, and emerging opportunities to support business growth and strategic decision-making.
  • Prepare periodic sales, business development, and market performance reports for management review.

Chemical Operations

Manage the procurement, storage, inventory control, handling, and distribution of chemicals while ensuring proper labeling, stock management, and maintenance of storage facilities.

Regulatory Compliance

Ensure compliance with all applicable chemical, environmental, occupational health and safety regulations, maintain required licenses and permits, and keep accurate chemical documentation including Safety Data Sheets (SDS).

Health, Safety and Environment (HSE)

Implement chemical safety programs, conduct risk assessments, promote safe handling practices, monitor PPE compliance, and coordinate emergency preparedness, spill response, and incident investigations.

Technical Support

Provide technical expertise on chemical products, support customers in product selection and application, deliver training and demonstrations, and develop procedures and guidelines for safe chemical handling and use.

QUALIFICATIONS

Academic Qualifications

Diploma in Chemical Engineering

Bachelor’s Degree in:

Chemical Engineering

Industrial Chemistry

Chemical Process

Experience

Minimum Requirements

2–5 years of experience in:

Chemical distribution

Chemical manufacturing

Laboratory operations

Water treatment

Industrial chemicals handling

Preferred Experience

Experience working with chemical suppliers or distributors.

Experience in chemical storage and transportation.

Experience in mining chemicals, industrial chemicals, or water treatment chemicals.

Technical Skills

Knowledge of chemical storage requirements.

Understanding of Safety Data Sheets (SDS).

Knowledge of chemical compatibility and segregation.

Chemical inventory management.

Risk assessment and hazard identification.

Incident investigation.

Microsoft Office applications.

Report writing skills.
