1: Operations Manager

Job Overview

United Petroleum is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead and oversee petroleum storage, transportation, and distribution operations in Zanzibar. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance, inventory control, and continuous business improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day operational activities across depots and distribution.
  • Ensure compliance with Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) standards and all regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee inventory management and monitor overall operational performance.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure efficient and effective operations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, cost control, and operational efficiency.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years in a managerial role.
  • Strong leadership, planning, communication, and problem-solving skills.

2: HEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENT (HSE) OFFICER – ZANZIBAR

We are seeking a proactive Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Officer to promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards across our operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and monitor HSE policies and procedures.
  • Conduct inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
  • Investigate incidents and recommend corrective actions.
  • Coordinate HSE training, emergency drills, and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain HSE records and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Occupational Health &
  • Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA or equivalent certification is an added advantage.
  • Minimum 3 years’ HSE experience in the petroleum, oil & gas, energy, or logistics sector.

3: DEPOT MANAGER – ZANZIBAR

We are looking for a results-driven Depot Manager to manage the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of our
fuel depot in Zanzibar.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily depot operations and supervise staff.
  • Oversee fuel receipt, storage, inventory, and dispatch.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor depot performance, maintenance, and product quality.
  • Maintain excellent customer service and operational efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain,
  • Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in depot or petroleum operations.
  • Strong leadership, inventory management, and operational planning skills.
