205 New Vacancies at Judicial Service Commission August 2026, The Judicial Service Commission is a body established in accordance with Article 112(1) of the Constitution of the United Republic of Tanzania of 1977. Furthermore, Article 113 of the Constitution of the United Republic of Tanzania read together with the Judicial Management Act, Chapter 237, gives the Judicial Service Commission various responsibilities including the recruitment of Tanzanian Court staff of various cadres.

Accordingly, the Judicial Service Commission invites Tanzanians with the qualifications specified below for each job position and who are willing to work in the Courts of Tanzania in various Regions and Districts in the country to submit their job applications.

In addition, applicants are required to carefully read the information in section 7.0 of this Advertisement before applying:

1.0 Resident Magistrate II – TJS II (Position 3)

1.1 Entry Qualifications: –

Applicants should possess a Form Four/Six Certificate, a Bachelor of Laws (L.L.B) from a University or Higher Education Institution recognized by the Government, along with a Postgraduate Diploma in Practical Law from the Law School of Tanzania.

Preference will be given to those with a Computer Science Certificate.

1.2 Duties: –

(i) Prepare a plan for hearing preliminary hearings in Criminal and Civil cases;

(ii) Hear preliminary hearings in Criminal and Civil cases;

(iii) Hear preliminary hearings in Matrimonial and Inheritance cases;

(iv) Prepare and deliver judgments on all cases heard;

(v) Issue various judicial orders as may be legally permitted;

(vi) Resolve cases;

(vii) Hear appeals from Ward Councils;

(viii) Conduct legal research and provide advice; and

(ix) Perform other duties as assigned by his/her supervisor.

2.0 Accounting Officer II – TGS. D (Position 3)

2.1 Entry Qualifications: –

Applicants must possess one of the qualifications listed below;-

(i) “Intermediate Certificate” (Module D) issued by NBAA or other equivalent qualifications recognized by NBAA, or

(ii) Bachelor of Commerce/Arts with a demonstrated track record in the field of Accounting, or

(iii) Higher Diploma in Accounting from any Institution recognized by the Government.

2.2 Duties: –

(i) Participate in writing the income and expenditure statement

(ii) Collaborate with the Accountant to prepare income statements

(iii) Participate in reconciling bank accounts and other related financial matters.

(iv) Prepare various salary statements

(v) Write payment documents and receipt documents

(vi) Maintain a deposit register

(vii) Perform other duties in his/her field as assigned by his/her superior.

3.0 Accounting Assistant II – TGS. B (9 Positions)

3.1 Entry qualifications: –

Applicants should have one of the qualifications mentioned below;-

(i) Holders of a Diploma in Accounting from a recognized Institution by the Government. Or

(ii) Holders of an ATEC II Certificate issued by NBAA or other qualifications equivalent to those recognized by NBAA.

3.2 Duties to be performed: –

(i) Maintaining the cash register for routine and development expenditure.

(ii) Maintaining payment vouchers.

(iii) Entering income and expenditure into the cash books.

(iv) Writing various financial statements received.

(v) Performing other duties in his/her field as assigned by his/her superior.

4.0 Records Assistant II – TGS C (Position 97)

4.1 Entry Qualifications: –

Employment of Form Four or Six graduates with Diploma or NTA Level 6 in one of the following fields; Records or Law from institutions recognized by the Government and with computer skills.

4.2 Duties to be performed: –

(a) Regular Registers

(i) Listing letters entering the registers in the register.

(ii) Listing letters leaving the Institution in the register.

(iii) Distributing files to executives.

(iv) Receiving files returned to the registry from executives.

(v) Returning files to the filing cabinet.

(vi) Monitoring the circulation of files of the Institute.

(b) Courts

(i) Receiving documents or letters relating to the opening of criminal and claim cases.

(ii) Writing summons relating to civil and criminal cases.

(iii) Preparing a weekly list of cases and maintaining files of ongoing cases.

5.0 Office Clerk Grade II – TGS C (9 Positions)

5.1 Entry qualifications: –

Form Four or Six graduates with a Diploma in Accounting or NTA Level 6 Certificate in Accounting will be recruited.

In addition, they should have passed the Kiswahili and English typing test of 100 words per minute and have acquired office computer programs such as: Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Internet, E-mail and Publisher from any university recognized by the Government.

5.2 Duties to be performed: –

(i) Typing letters, reports and ordinary and confidential documents;

(ii) Receiving visitors and asking them about their problems, and directing them to the areas where they can be addressed;

(iii) Maintaining information, records of events, appointments, visitors, dates of meetings, trips of the head and other work schedules;

(iv) Searching for files and documents required in the implementation of job duties;

(v) Receiving files and distributing them to the officers in the relevant Department/Unit/Section;

(vi) Collecting, maintaining and returning files and documents to the relevant parts;

(vii) Organizing extracts and making preparations for various sessions;

6.0 Office Assistant – TGOS. A (84 Positions)

6.1 Entry Qualifications;

To employ Form Four graduates and those who have attended short-term training in the following areas; Office Attendant Course, Office Management, Messangerial Course, Office Clerk from any college recognized by the Government.

6.2 Duties to be performed;

(i) Cleaning the office and the external and internal environment including sweeping, dusting, mopping, cutting leaves, weeding the garden, watering the garden, planting flowers or trees and
cleaning toilets;

(ii) Collecting and delivering files and other documents to the relevant officers and returning them to the relevant sections;

(iii) Distribute office mail as directed;

(iv) Prepare office tea;

(v) ​​Deliver mail bags and collect mail from the Post Office;

(vi) Ensure that office supplies are placed in their proper place;

(vii) Open office doors and windows during morning and evening and close them after working hours;

(viii) Type letters or publications on typewriters;

(ix) File copies of typed letters in the officethey are in;

(x) Maintain office supplies and report any damage.

7.0 Important Information for applicants of all cadres.

(i) The applicant must be a Tanzanian citizen not less than 18 years of age and not more than 45 years of age; and must not have been convicted of any criminal offence or imprisoned;

(ii) All applications should be accompanied by copies of attested educational and training certificates, birth certificate, recent passport size photograph and other documents as per the qualifications of the relevant cadre.

(iii) These positions are for new recruitment, therefore, employees who already have permanent employment in the Public Service are not eligible to apply for these positions;

(iv) Successful applicants will be employees of the Courts of Tanzania and should be ready to be assigned to any vacant position;

(v) ​​Applicants who studied abroad should have their certificates verified by TCU/NACTVET, failing which their applications will not be considered;

(vi) Applicants who have been dismissed/dismissed from the Public Service should not apply;

(vii) Applicants who provide false information, such as their age, education, or previous employment, and are found to have provided false information, even if they are already employed, will be dismissed from their jobs, including taking strict legal action.

(viii) Applicants with disabilities will be given priority.

Applicants should specify the type of disability in their application letter and in the application form.

(ix) Any applicant who does not meet the qualifications specified in the position and who does not comply with any of the conditions listed in this notice will not be considered.
